The partnership with Phoenix Thoroughbreds, which secured the sale topper by Redoute's Choice, Lot 32 on Day 1, was extremely busy with two colts and a filly bought all for $750,000-plus.
Lot 665, the colt by I Am Invincible out of Group 1 winning mare Hurtle Myrtle (Dane Shadow) went for $800,000, with Aquis CEO Shane McGrath delighted to have secured another colt by a top stallion.

"He's just a lovely colt. What’s not to like. He's by one of the best sires in Australia. It looks like he’ll get up and rolling early. The mare is a Group 1 winner, so he was a pretty obvious one for us," McGrath said.
"The guys at Phoenix had him as their best of the day and we concurred."
It was another great result for Segenhoe Stud, who a day earlier had sold the $1.4m Redoute's Choice colt to Harron.
"Obviously Hurtle Myrtle is a Group 1 winner. He's a real typical I Am invincible. Just a lovely rich bay quality. He's a great mover," Segenhoe's Peter O'Brien said. "There's a lot of key players in for him. Coolmore were underbidders with Aquis and Phoenix buying him. He was just a classic and beautiful horse typical of what the sire throws."
"This colt by far, far and away the best yearling she's thrown. It's really a testament to the stallion, every type of mare," he said.
Aquis and Phoenix also paid $800,000 for Lot 597, by Snitzel colt out of Fortune of War (General Nediym), as well as $750,000, the highest price yet at this sale for a Zoustar filly, Lot 675 out of Igraine (Denman).

Aquis and Ciaron Maher Racing, who have Dubious (Not A Single Doubt) running for them in Saturday's Magic Millions 2YO Classic, combined to buy another Not A Single Doubt, Lot 765 out of Madame Andree (War Emblem {USA}) for $750,000.
Continuing their love of a partnership, Aquis also bought horses with Busuttin Racing and Tony Gollan Racing, the latter by their stallion Spill The Beans.
Those partnerships mean that Aquis are not technically the leading buyers at the sale, even though they have bought 18 horses at a total of $9.86m.
The single biggest buyer at the sale remains China Horse Club/Newgate with 12 yearlings for a total of $5.3 million.
Bowditch delighted with solid trade
Magic Millions Managing Director Barry Bowditch said that although the median and average had dropped there was excellent trade, which boded well for a particularly strong clearance rate.
"The first two days were unprecedented and momentum flowed on today. With an average of $237,000 it's well up on last year and the clearance rate of 87% puts us in a good position to close off at 88-89%."
Bowditch mentioned that buyers who had done their homework and approached the sale with a broad shortlist were able to buy very well.
"I felt today again, the guys who had done their work and had shopped around keeping their lists long were able to find some value. I had half a dozen people come up to me and say they'd managed to buy a horse well today. With this big catalogue they continue to find value."
