Hawkesbury Race Club's annual TAB stand-alone Saturday is being held this weekend, and along with the Scone Cup carnival, it has become an integral part of the Sydney Autumn schedule, following on from the Australian Turf Club's Golden Slipper Carnival at Rosehill Gardens and The Championships at Royal Randwick.

Hawkesbury G3 Livamol Hawkesbury Gold Cup, $200,000, 1600m

Chris Waller will saddle seven runners here and better going will give Kaonic (NZ) (Savabeel) a chance to turn his form around after a heavy track defeat in the G3 Doncaster Prelude.

Tom Melbourne (Ire) (Dylan Thomas {Ire}) doesn’t win out of turn, but his place prospects are never to be taken lightly and Tumultuous (Fastnet Rock) is first-up and has had a couple of lead-in trials.

Aloisia (NZ) (Azamour {Ire}) is back from Group 1 assignments and she’ll be ultra-competitive on her best form while Zourkhan (Ire) (Shamardal {USA}) was runner-up when resuming and he’s a proven second-up performer.

Trip to suit Trope

Hawkesbury G3 Blacktown Workers Hawkesbury Guineas, $200,000, 1400m

Trope (More Than Ready {USA}) has done little wrong in his brief career with success on debut followed by a Listed placing. Last time out he came from the back for a close seventh in the G2 Arrowfield S. and the extra trip here will suit him well.

Quackerjack (Not A Single Doubt) looked good when he won on the Kensington track off the back of a break while Rainier (Lonhro) has struck wet tracks in his last two Group appearances and a drier surface will help his cause.

Eawase (Sebring) got a long way back at Randwick last time out before making late ground and she looks a chance at longer odds.

Irithea one to follow

Hawkesbury G3 Killahy Equine Hawkesbury Crown, $175,000, 1300m

Irithea (Snitzel) trialled well before resuming in the G2 Sapphire S. and her run for second was a grand effort. She drew the widest gate and with natural improvement she can go one better from a much handier barrier.

Manicure (Exceed And Excel) has been freshened since she was unplaced in the G1 Coolmore Classic and with a recent trial under her belt she promises to be competitive.

Zumbelina (Stratum) was out of the frame when resuming, but she has past winning second-up form, and Pecans (Skilled) is fresh and won this race 12 months ago when returning from a break.

Sprinter has first-up advantage

Hawkesbury Listed XXXX Gold Hawkesbury Rush, $140,000, 1200m

Tactical Advantage (Bel Esprit) hasn’t raced since a Listed success in January, but has won a recent trial and has a proven first-up record. Spending To Win (Snitzel) boasts a similar profile, although luck from the draw will dictate his chances.

Intuition (Street Cry {Ire}) has won his last two and in the right order to tackle stakes company while stablemate Badajoz (Commands) is resuming and trialled well at Randwick ahead of his return.

Crack sprinter to shine

Eagle Farm G2 TAB Victory S., $200,000, 1200m

Redzel (Snitzel) has yet to shine in two starts this preparation, but this is a major step back in grade for the top-line sprinter.

From a perfect barrier, the two-time Everest champion will get few better opportunities to stage a return to his top form. Winter Bride (Not A Single Doubt) is a gifted mare and multiple stakes winner and she looks the hardest for the topweight to account for.

I Am Excited (Snitzel) was placed in this race last year and all the better for her last run. I’m A Rippa (Love Conquers All) is back from a break he trialled well recently behind race rival Stella Victoria (Foxwedge), who’s a chance at longer odds.

Gem of a chance

Eagle Farm G3 Fujitsu General Gunsynd Classic, $140,000, 1600m

Group winner Gem Song (Your Song) was a close last-start fourth in a competitive age group event at Randwick and a similar effort here will see him hard to roll.

Starkers (Love Conquers All) looks ready for a crack at stakes company after two wins on the bounce while Napoleon Solo (Uncle Mo {USA}) can be expected to strip a fitter horse for his resuming run.

Brilliant Mind (So You Think {NZ}) has been freshened since two strong middle distance showings and a mile should suit him at this stage and look for improvement from A Man To Match (High Chaparral {Ire}), a past second-up winner.

Nothing dubious about this colt

Eagle Farm Listed TAB Dalrello S., $125,000, 1000m

Dubious (Not A Single Doubt) looks to have the class edge over his rivals with a G3 Breeders’ Plate victory to his credit and a placing in Group 2 Sydney company. He also won on this track prior to Christmas.

Yitai Synergy (Dissident) was a smart trial winner last month to draw attention to her prospects while Garibaldi (I Am Invincible) was impressive on debut and far from disgraced when fifth at Randwick in his only other appearance.

Well-travelled 2YO to star

Morphettville G3 Howe Printing Breeders’ S., $120,000, 1200m

Memphis Rock (Fastnet Rock) has acquitted himself well in strong races in New South Wales and Victoria. There’s no reason to think he won’t continue his form on his travels in this.

Shifty Shamus (Shamus Award) and Kooweerup (More Than Ready {USA}) both won their debuts well enough to rate serious consideration again while She Shao Fly (Epaulette) was sound when fourth on the course last time out.

Stablemate Grand Scholar (Wandjina) hasn’t been seen since he ran third in the Listed Maribyrnong Trial, but has won a trial ahead of resuming.

3YO to enjoy class drop

Morphettville G3 Heineken Chairman’s S., $120,000, 2032m

Declarationofheart (Declaration Of War {USA}) will get few better chances to showcase his best form. He should enjoy a steep drop back in class after a fair effort for eighth in the G1 ATC Derby.

Savvy Oak (NZ) (Savabeel) is a promising staying prospect who beat the older horses at Cranbourne last time out.

Classic Weiwei (Shamus Award) has a winning habit to be admired with three consecutive victories on the board and a longshot hope might be Amanikan (Sebring), who should relish the extra distance.

Mare is flying

Morphettville Listed Holdfast Insurance City of Adelaide H., $100,000, 1400m

Flying Krupt (Krupt) has given strong accounts of herself in her last two in Melbourne and is drawn to get a sweet run.

Bring Me Roses (High Chaparral {Ire}) will enjoy a major drop back in class while Amastryker (Stryker) is going up in grade but has won her last two so is in the right order to take up the challenge.

Akkadian top prospect

Morphettville Listed HC Nitschke S., $140,000, 1400m

Akkadian (Nicconi) was a strong winner at Pakenham last time out and he can continue that form here and Seberate (Sebring) looms as a major player after his runner-up finish at Caulfield.

Crockett (All American) was second on the course when returning to action so improvement can be expected with a run under his belt. Aiguilette (Epaulette) is unbeaten in two appearances and he looks sure to be competitive again.

Front-runner on a roll

Te Rapa G2 Travis S., NZ$100,000, 2000m

Nicoletta (NZ) (Savabeel) worked hard to lead in the G1 NZ Thoroughbred Breeders’ S. and clung on gallantly to win the Te Aroha feature.

If she is left alone in front again she’s sure to go close and it might be at the expense of Supera (NZ) (Savabeel), who chased her home when they last clashed.

Our Abbadean (NZ) (Lookin at Lucky {USA}) was disappointing when resuming, but she’s a quality mare capable of turning her form around over this trip and Fiscal Fantasy (Skilled) is at the top of her game. She capped off a run of placed form with victory in the G3 Manawatu Breeders’ S.

Worth another chance

Te Rapa G3 Inglis Sale Cambridge Breeders’ S., NZ$70,000, 1200m

Dawn Patrol (NZ) (Dawn Approach {Ire}) let himself down last time out by over-racing, but that was his first run for a month and he’s worth another chance. He has an awkward gate, but as a Group 1 performer has the class to overcome that.

Vigor Winner (Declaration Of War {USA}) was beaten for the first time when a close second in the G2 Wellington Guineas and will be competitive. Cavallo Veloce (NZ) (O’Reilly) was stakes placed against the older horses last time out so a strong form pointer.

The filly Santa Catarina (NZ) (Savabeel) is on the quick back-up in a bid to complete a hat-trick of wins and Sheezallmine (NZ) (Super Easy) is unbeaten and ready for her first crack at black type.
