The dashing Anthony Cummings-trained filly turned on a masterclass and with a sense of impeccable timing in the Listed Woodlands S., which was sponsored by Yarraman Park Stud.
I Am Invincible has stood at the Mitchell family’s Scone nursery since 2010 and Libertini provided the son of Invincible Spirit (Ire) with his 27th stakes winner of the 2018-2019 season.
That mark surpassed by one the previous best tallies of the hugely influential Danehill (USA) and the potent Snitzel.
“It’s great and that Libertini’s a pretty good filly. We were probably a bit stiff in Brisbane too, Strasbourg should have won,” Yarraman Park’s Arthur Mitchell said, referring to the colt’s runner-up finish in the G2 Champagne S.
“He’s a saint – he doesn’t even bite. He’s just a lovely animal to have around.” – Arthur Mitchell.
“He’s been a pretty remarkable stallion. He’s the most beautiful horse you’d ever see and he’s got the right temperament.

A smart sprinter
I Am Invincible compiled a smart record during his racing days and won his first race at Warwick Farm for Toby Edmonds before he was transferred to John, Michael and Wayne Hawkes and added a further success for the family operation.
He then joined Peter Morgan’s stable and was victorious a further three times, including the G3 Evright.Com S. and the Listed Sir John Monash S. and finished runner-up in the G1 Goodwood H.
“He’s a gorgeous horse, that’s the reason we bought him and sold him on his looks.” – Arthur Mitchell.
He retired to Yarraman Park as the winner of five of his 13 starts and that record, combined with his stunning looks, convinced the farm to invest.

"We bought him off the track when he was a 5-year-old and own half of him with the Galls, who raced him,” Mitchell said.

“That helped, but he didn’t cover a lot of top end mares. He only covered whatever we could get for him for the first few years, but all the better mares have come through.
“We’re very lucky to have him. We’ve been at this a long while so I suppose we were due for a bit of luck.

“It’s funny where these top horses can come from. It gives all small stallion owners a bit of hope.”
