Ahead of the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale on the Gold Coast, we have picked out three yearlings who have had substantial pedigree updates in the build up to the sale.
Today we check out a half-sister to a recent impressive Hong Kong winner, a Kiwi filly whose full sister contested a recent Group 1 and an extended member of the family of recent Group 1 winner Kenedna (Not A Single Doubt).
Lot 2042 - Time For War x Cinecitta - Offered by Kitchwin Hills
This filly is a half-sister to John Moore's promising Hong Kong sprinter Thanks Forever (Duporth), who returned from a long break to beat the highly-rated Voyage Warrior (Declaration Of War {USA}) in a recent 1000m race at Sha Tin.
Moore rates Thanks Forever as a potential top-line sprinter, which is good timing for his half-sister by the ill-fated Time For War. Their dam Cinecitta (Exceed And Excel) was stakes-placed and is out of the stakes winning 2-year-old Malagra Miss (Barathea {USA}), so it’s a family with both speed and precocity.
Lot 2042 - Time For War x Cinecitta - Offered by Kitchwin Hills
Lot 2098 - Showcasing (GB) x Forever And Ever (Ire) - Offered by Bhima Thoroughbreds
The older progeny of Monsun (Ger) mare Forever And Ever have had a busy couple of months since the catalogue was issued. This filly's full sister Intrigue (NZ) was Group 2 placed in New Zealand in April and won a Sunshine Coast 3-year-old race before contesting last Saturday's G1 Queensland Oaks.
Another half-sister, Snitz Of Time (Snitzel), was a recent winner first-up in a Pearl Series race at Matamata. Forever and Ever is out of the stakes-placed Time Ahead (GB) (Spectrum {Ire}), a half-sister to Group 1 winner Time Away (Ire) (Darshaan {GB}).
Lot 2098 - Showcasing (GB) x Forever And Ever (Ire) - Offered by Bhima Thoroughbreds
Lot 2119 - Headwater x Happy Laughing - Offered by Fernrigg Farm
Kenenda (Not A Single Doubt) has enjoyed a brilliant campaign with a pair of Group 1 victories, in the Coolmore Legacy and the Doomben Cup, complemented by a win in in Saturday's G2 PJ O'Shea S. at Doomben. This filly hails from the same family, being out of a half-sister to Kenedna's dam, Miss Dodwell (Falbrav {Ire}).
Other siblings to Happy Laughing (Starcraft {NZ}), include stakes-winners Yammer (Bellotto {USA}) and Blab (Flying Spur), while Spill the Beans (Snitzel), Speak Fondly (Northern Meteor) and Wild and Proud (Snowland) are also part of the family.
