Race Summary:
The sparingly-raced Dez (NZ) (Zed {NZ}) headed to Riccarton in winning form and he duly added to his record with a hard-fought victory.
The 8-year-old settled midfield under veteran jockey Chris Johnson before improving near the turn and finished doggedly in the straight.
Rosewood (NZ) (Redwood) was in front a fair way out and she fought on gallantly to be clear of the third-placed Flying Sardine (Flying Spur).

The dam is out of Falcons Wing (NZ) (Star Way {GB}), a half-sister to the former champion New Zealand juvenile and G2 Matamata Breeders’ S. winner Scotch And Dry (Whiskey Road {USA}).
It’s also the family of the G1 Golden Slipper S. winner and successful sire Baguette (Rego {Ire}).
