With the weather and stallions all playing their roles to perfection, Woodside Park Stud enjoyed a highly successful stallion parade on Saturday morning.
James Price, the stud’s General Manager Commercial, was delighted with the day.
“It was a fantastic turnout,” he said. “All of the clients who came along were blessed with absolutely beautiful weather. That’s not always the case here at this time of year, but today the sun was shining and there was hardly a breath of wind.

Woodside Park showcased its full range of stallions, with the exception of promising shuttler Cable Bay (Ire).
“We didn’t parade Cable Bay, who only touched down in Australia this morning,” Price said. “But he reportedly travelled over well, and we’re looking forward to welcoming back to the stud here on August 31.”
The headline act on the Woodside Park roster is Written Tycoon, who will once again stand for a fee of $110,000 inc GST in 2019.
Australia’s leading sire of 2-year-olds in 2015-16, Written Tycoon has sired a total of 633 winners from 901 runners. His 28 individual stakes winners include seven at Group 1 level – Tycoon Tara, Music Magnate, Booker, Written By, Despatch, Capitalist and (La) Luna Rossa.
Foxwedge is also a proven Group 1 stallion and stands for a fee of $16,500, while the $12,100 stallion Rich Enuff will be represented by his first 2-year-olds this season, and Tosen Stardom will stand his second season at stud for $19,250.
“None of the stallions we paraded today had shuttled or anything like that, so they’ve all enjoyed a few months off to chill and relax,” Price said. “They’ve prepared for this season by spending some time on the walker, and they’re all looking really muscular and fit and ready for the season ahead.

“We had some wonderful feedback on them. When breeders like what they see physically, sometimes they can talk themselves into liking what they see in the pedigrees as well. It was all really positive.”
