Meanwhile, up in Queensland Tuesday morning first season sire Press Statement (Hinchinbrook) produced his first runner when 2-year-old filly Press Start took out heat two at the Gold Coast.

Press Start looked like a real professional, showing terrific barrier speed to lead throughout and opened the field-up late to win by 2.3l in good style.

Press Start was purchased for $180,000 at this year’s Magic Millions Yearling Sale for trainer Greg Hickman and Ferguson Bloodstock.

There were also two 2-year-old trials run at Doomben Tuesday morning.

Trainer Steven O’Dea produced 2-year-old filly Gotta Kiss (Not A Single Doubt) to win heat nine.

Gotta Kiss came from last in the small field and accelerated brilliantly down the home straight to sprint away from the field and win by 3.5l in quick time by comparison to the other heats over the same distance.

A $150,000 Magic Millions Yearling Sale purchase, Gotta Kiss is the first foal to race from city winning mare Sweet Kiss (Strada).

Finally, Deep Field colt Kavak for trainer Chris Munce appears a chip off the old block and not dissimilar to his sire with a very speedy performance to win heat ten.

Kavak quickly overcame the outside barrier by speeding across the field leading easily and when asked to lengthen sprinted clear down the home straight to win by 3l.

Kavak was a $145,000 purchase at the 2019 Magic Millions Yearling Sale.
