Looking Ahead puts the spotlight on runners of interest across Australia and New Zealand. Whether they are a particularly well-bred or high-priced runner having their first or second start, a promising galloper returning to the track or a horse which has trialled particularly well, we’ll aim to give you something to follow.
On Tuesday, we concentrate our efforts on the Muswellbrook meeting where we like the chances of a patiently-handled debutante, a filly with a Group 1 pedigree and a 3-year-old who has already added to her family's roll of honour.
Muswellbrook, Race 1, 2.10pm, Lewis Seib Memorial, $22,000, 900m
Little Foxy (Foxwedge) comes from a speedy family and is a daughter of Shippo (NZ) (Zizou), who was successful four times up to 1200 metres. The pedigree further features the former Australian Horse of the Year and multiple Group 1 winner Weekend Hussler (Hussonet {USA}) and the G1 William Reid S. winner Lucky Hussler (Husson {Arg}). Little Foxy has been given plenty of time to develop and was a runner-up at the trials before making her home track debut.

The Kim Waugh-trained Shimmering Light (Smart Missile) was only fair on debut, but with the benefit of that experience it might be worth giving her another chance to showcase her rich pedigree.

Perfect Peace (Mossman) showed she had inherited a good degree of the family ability for trainer Kris Lees when the 3-year-old sat on the pace on debut at Tamworth and drew out in the run home for a comfortable victory.
Perfect Peace as a yearling
