The consistent Gold Fields (Churchill Downs) was perfectly positioned on the leader’s quarters and was going well when the field swung for home. In his last race day ride, Stephen Baster urged the gelding to the front 350 metres from home and he held a strong gallop for a fairy tale ending for the respected jockey.
Mr Exclusive (Magnus) finished strongly to narrowly go under and Travimyfriend (NZ) (Tavistock {NZ}) took the cheque for third.

Azuro rounded off strongly in the straight to defeat stablemate Wall Of Fire (Ire) (Canford Cliffs {Ire}), who hit the line well and Etah James (NZ) (Raise The Flag {USA}) was third.

Conqueror (Fastnet Rock) raced one off the fence in midfield and he got home well for second with Heart Of Puissance (Puissance De Lune) third. He made the running and was clearly headed before rallying again.

Southern France (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) found a lack of pace against him when unplaced in the G1 Melbourne Cup and he enjoyed a more genuine tempo in this. He settled in the last trio before rider Mark Zahra wound him up and he came with a relentless finish to open his Australian account.
Chapada (Bullet Train {GB}) also came home well for the runner-up berth with Miss Siska (So You Think {NZ}), who got to the front half-way down the straight, fighting on for third.

As she so often does, Jamaican Rain (Manhattan Rain) assumed control from barrier rise and she travelled sweetly in front. The 7-year-old slipped clear on straightening and she was tenacious to the line to cling on for a narrow victory.
One More Try (Dane Shadow) made a late lunge only to come up short and Sweet Scandal (Sebring), who was being niggled at on the bend, rallied late for a close third.

Pacodali (Ire) (Paco Boy {Ire}) had the race run to suit as he stalked the leader throughout and rider Dean Yendall was able to bide his time until the field straightened. He then pushed the button and the genuine 7-year-old got into his work and sailed away for a decisive victory.
The front-runner and warm favourite Setting Sail (GB) (Dansili {GB}) had an easy time of it front, but he had no answer in the closing 250 metres and second was his lot and Exasperate (Tough Speed) claimed the third prize.
