Pedigree Boosters - Inglis Classic Sale

In the build up to the Inglis Classic Sale at the Riverside Stables, we will pick out three yearlings each day who have had substantial pedigree updates in the past couple of months.

Today, zero in on a Flying Artie colt whose close relative has enjoyed recent success in Hong Kong, a daughter of Xtravagant (NZ) who has been handed a Group 3 update and a son of Star Turn whose half-sister has delivered a Group 1 boost.

Lot 151 – Flying Artie x Forever Crazy (Encosta De Lago) – Offered by Newgate

This colt is out of a sister to Hawkshot (Fiorente {Ire), the G2 Autumn S. winner and runner-up in the G1 Australian Guineas. As Beauty Legacy, he has been a recent winner in Hong Kong and finished fourth in the Listed Hong Kong Classic Mile.

Another family member Money Matters (Canford Cliffs {Ire}) has won three times since the catalogue went to print, including the Listed Rangeview Stud Classic. The Newgate youngster’s dam was successful six times and the pedigree page also boasts the G1 CF Orr S. winner and sire Shinzig and the multiple black type winner and sire Strada.

Lot 528 – Xtravagant (NZ) x To Be Forgiving (Show A Heart) – Offered by Newhaven Park

There is plenty of speed evident in this pedigree as displayed by Mildred (Hinchinbrook), the latest member of the family to earn black type honours when she claimed the G3 Chairman’s S. with a strong front-running performance.

This filly’s dam is a half-sister to the G2 QTC Cup winner Celtic Thunder (Choisir) and another noted sprinters in the pedigree is the G1 Salinger S. winner Notoire (Export Price {Fr}) while Mildred’s dam Tempost Tost (Statue Of Liberty {USA}) won the Magic Millions 3YO Trophy.

Lot 590 – Star Turn x Amberino (Perugino {USA}) – Offered by Vinery Stud

This colt is a half-brother to the three-time Group 3 winner Winter Bride (Not A Single Doubt), who also finished runner-up in this year’s edition of the G1 Diamond S. at Ellerslie.

Their dam was a talented mare who was successful 10 times with her career highlight a victory in the G2 Emancipation S. All three of her foals to race have won and the family also includes the stakes winner and sire Blazing Sword and the Listed Mick Dittman Plate winner Divine Centauri (I Am Invincible).
