TDN AusNZ: How did you decide on this particular mating?
Ross Boucher, Breeder: I was trying to replicate somewhat the Snitzel cross that produced the David Hayes trained filly for me out of this mare in Air Apparent.
I had thought that she was the best yearling the mare had produced to that point, so went to a Group 1 winning 2-year-old son in Sizzling. The first attempt produced Rari who I sold to Greg Hickman at the Inglis Classic Sale in 2018.
He was a big yearling, but I was encouraged enough with the cross to return with the mare again in 2018, after she failed to conceive with Rari at foot in 2017.
TDN AusNZ: What was the foaling down like and initial comments on the foal?
Eureka Stud: “A leggy filly with good depth and shape to her, 63kgs."
TDN AusNZ: What was the horse like as a weanling?
Eureka Stud: "A strong, forward foal with plenty of leg. Has some quality about her."
TDN AusNZ: How is the horse handling prep so far? Does it have a nickname? Particular traits/personality?
Eureka Stud: "She has handled the prep very well and flourished in the last few weeks. Is known as ‘Lucy’ by the stud staff."
