For the second consecutive year, young Coolmore stallion Rubick has been the busiest sire in Australia, according to Australian Studbook statistics.
The Group 2 winning son of champion sire Encosta De Lago, Rubick covered 263 mares in 2018 and covered only one less in 2019 at the increased fee of $38,500 (inc. GST).

Rubick is the leading Australian second-crop sire by earnings with The Everest winner Yes Yes Yes, who will join his sire at Coolmore this spring, and the G2 Kewney S. winner Rubisaki among his leading representatives.
Coolmore provided three of the top five busiest sires with So You Think (NZ) covering 234 mares at a service fee of $38,500 (inc. GST) and Pierro 217 at $88,000 (inc. GST).

Newgate Farm’s Deep Field was the second most popular in 2018 and also held the same spot in 2019 covering 256 mares at an increased fee of $44,000 (inc. GST). His associate sire Russian Revolution was the fourth busiest sire with 223 covers.

Widden Stud’s Trapeze Artist was the busiest first-season sire covering 180 mares at a service fee of $88,000, (inc. GST) with Yulong’s foundation stallion Grunt (NZ) covering 178 at $13,750 (inc. GST).
Swettenham Stud’s Toronado (Ire) was the most popular Victorian sire covering 197 mares at $27,500 (inc. GST), while Lyndhurst Stud’s Better Than Ready was the busiest in Queensland covering 216 mares at $33,000 (inc. GST).
