Addeybb to double up

G1 Longines Queen Elizabeth S., $2,000,000, 2000m

Addeybb (Ire) (Pivotal {GB}) was mightily impressive when winning the G1 Tancred S. in his Australian debut and is sure to be sharper for the outing so he'll surely prove hard to roll.

Te Akau Shark (NZ) (Rip Van Winkle {Ire}) has been in fine touch and won the G1 Chipping Norton S. in great style. He was then third in the G1 George Ryder S. and this distance will suit him better while stablemate Melody Belle (NZ) (Commands) is an outstanding mare and gives trainer Jamie Richards a powerful hand.

Danon Premium (Jpn) (Deep Impact {Jpn}) is a Group 1 winner in his homeland and Japanese form has proved genuine at Australian carnivals. Verry Elleegant (NZ) (Zed {NZ}) is rock hard fit and at the top of her game, a combination that puts her in the thick of the action.

Vow And Declare (Declaration Of War {USA}) was a bold third when resuming in the G1 Australian Cup. That was his first appearance since he won the G1 Melbourne Cup so it’s reasonable to assume he will strip fitter here.

Favourite with good reason

G1 Schweppes Sydney Cup, $1,000,000, 3200m

Young Rascal (Fr) (Intello {Ger}) produced a dour display to win the G3 Manion Cup and obviously progressive with six wins from 11 starts and copes well with rain-affected tracks. He heads the betting market and looks a dead-set two-miler.

Raheen House (Ire) (Sea The Stars {Ire}) has won up to 2800 metres in stakes company in England and in his current form he should cope with this distance. He was a smart winner of the G2 Chairman’s Quality and drops 2kg.

Mustajeer (GB) (Medicean {GB}) is nothing if not brave and it took Verry Elleegant to beat him in the Tancred and he too drops in weight. Etah James (NZ) (Raise The Flag {USA}) won’t be bothered by the trip and is worth a second look on an each way basis.

Corncrake (GB) (Mastercraftsman {Ire}) has come through the grades impressively and he’s a strong lightweight prospect while Gallic Chieftain (Fr) (Tamayuz {GB}) was much improved last time out and he’s placed at this trip.

Double on cards

G1 The Star Australian Oaks, $500,000, 2400m

Shout The Bar (Not A Single Doubt) stepped up to the big time in the G1 Vinery Stud S. and won that in fine style and a notable double, as she is lightly-raced and still open to improvement.

Probabeel (NZ) (Savabeel) was runner-up in the Vinery and if she can strike a decent track the New Zealand-trained filly is more than capable of reversing the result. She has plenty of class on her side.

Colette (Hallowed Crown) has made rapid progress and while she perhaps didn’t beat the very best fillies in the G3 Adrian Knox S., she is in terrific form and Vinery placegetter Nudge (Fastnet Rock) is another very much in the picture. She looks unlikely to be untroubled by the trip.

Toffee Tongue (NZ) (Tavistock {NZ}) has yet to win, but she’s another who should be suited by 2400 metres, as well Aspect Ratio (Declaration Of War {USA}). Along with Quintessa (Pierro), they look the most likely to shine at odds.

3YO to have some fun

G1 Coolmore Legacy S., $500,000, 1600m

The intriguing runner is Funstar (Adelaide {Ire}), with trainer Chris Waller changing tack to run her against the older horses rather than in the Oaks. She’s a top class filly and a definite threat with her pull in the weights.

Nettoyer (Sebring) was outstanding when successful in the G1 Doncaster H. and a similar effort would make her hard to deny. She has a few tricks, but on her best behaviour she will go close to completing a lucrative double.

Alizee (Sepoy) has been a wonderful mare for Godolphin and this will be her final race day appearance. She’s going well enough to suggest a perfect ending is a distinct possibility.

Positive Peace (Stratum) faces her toughest test, but she is in the form of her life and no knock on her while Con Te Partiro (USA) (Scat Daddy {USA}) wasn’t far away in the Doncaster and was previously dominant in the G1 Coolmore Classic.

Sweet Deal (Casino Prince) is genuine and if she gets a strong mile is in the mix and Noire (Foxwedge) is holding her form well and therefore an each way prospect.

Force is with colt

G2 Arrowfield 3YO Sprint, $500,000, 1200m

Cosmic Force (Deep Field) found the competition too tough in the G1 The Galaxy and back to his own age group he is sure to prove far more competitive. He’s drawn a good gate and looks set to return to winning ways.

Dawn Passage (Dawn Approach {Ire}) resumed in the Listed Darby Munro S. and did well to come from the back for second. He will improve and can’t be left out of calculations while Splintex (Snitzel) has plenty of pace and can make good use of the inside alley.

Groundswell (Fastnet Rock) has looked sharp in recent trials and a return to his form of the spring puts him in the frame. He was third in the G1 Caulfield Guineas and a repeat of that effort would see him go close.

California Zimbol (I Am Invincible) won the Darby Munro well enough to seriously consider again and stablemate Anaheed (Fastnet Rock) will appreciate the drop back from The Galaxy and appeals as the best chance at odds.

On her game

G2 Heineken 3 Percy Sykes S., $500,000, 1200m

Away Game (Snitzel) has enjoyed an outstanding 2-year-old campaign having won the Magic Millions 2YO Classic and the G3 Widden S. She turned in another excellent last-start performance for second in the G1 Golden Slipper S. and can go one better here.

Dame Giselle (I Am Invincible) won the G2 Reisling S. and she wasn’t far away in the Slipper and neither was See You Soon (Siyouni {Fr}), who had an interrupted preparation and can improve.

Philizzy (Snitzel) and Time Is Precious (Snitzel) have both been genuine in brief careers and there’s no reason why they won’t be contenders again.

Swats That (Shamus Award) beat a decent line-up on debut at Bendigo and, while this is a step up, she has more to offer with the experience of a run under her belt. Jemss (Exosphere) was below par last time, but going on her previous effort she’s a definite place prospect.

Galaxy strong pointer

G2 TAB Sapphire S., $300,000, 1200m

Savatiano (Street Cry {Ire}) was only 2.5l off the winner in the G1 The Galaxy and that’s a form line that may well be good enough to see her successful in what is an open race.

Stablemate Manicure (Exceed And Excel) was runner-up in the G3 Star Kingdom S. when a month between runs so she could strip a sharper mare while I Am Excited (Snitzel) was outstanding winning The Galaxy, but rises 8kg and has a wide gate.

White Moss (Mossman) will appreciate a drop back in class after taking on Group 1 company in her last two starts and Winter Bride (Not A Single Doubt) is fresh and has four first-up wins on her record to take into consideration.

Untamed to unleash

Listed Cellarbrations Fernhill Mile, $150,000, 1600m

Untamed (Pierro) ran the 1400 metres out strongly enough when second in the G3 Baillieu S. to suggest he will be a force to be reckoned with over a mile.

Postcode (Vancouver) posted a deserved breakthrough success last time out and looms as a major threat and Fayerra (Valentia) is well-seasoned and in good form for this test.

Azaly (Dundeel {NZ}) was third on debut and has since trialled and on pedigree should be suited to the trip while Wheelhouse (Pierro) and Al Sahara (Pride Of Dubai) have strong enough placed form to put them in the mix.

Dashing for cash

Listed The Agency South Pacific Classic, $150,000, 1400m

Yao Dash (Smart Missile) was a recent trial winner and from the inside gate he may take some catching. He is lightly-tried and could be worth taking a chance on at a price.

Spend (Snitzel) was a close fourth in the Listed Bendigo Guineas and may be more effective over this shorter trip and Hilo (Lonhro) rarely goes a bad race and should give another bold sight.

Never Listen (Trusting) hasn’t raced since second in the G1 VRC Oaks so her class could see her a first-up place hope. Mirra Vision (Lonhro) lost her unbeaten record in the Listed Darby Munro S., but wasn’t far away and if she gets the early breaks from a wide gate is right in the mix.
