Siblings to multiple Group 1 winners and youngsters by stallions from a quality crop of first-season stallions headline the Inglis Weanling Sales Series in July.

The action begins with the Australian Weanling Sale at Riverside Stables on Wednesday, July 8 before attention turns south for the Great Southern Sale at Oaklands in Melbourne on Sunday, July 12.

The two are flanked by yearling sales - the first planned physical sale in the world since the COVID-19 lockdown - Easter Round 2, the Scone Yearling Sale at Riverside on Sunday, July 5 and the Melbourne Gold Sale at Oaklands on Thursday, July 16.

The Australian Weanling Sale features 331 lots by proven commercial stallions in the market including Snitzel, Fastnet Rock, Pierro, Zoustar, So You Think (NZ), Sebring, Lonhro, Exceed And Excel, Dundeel (NZ), Deep Field, Written Tycoon and Brazen Beau, as well as first crop sires Russian Revolution, Merchant Navy, Hellbent, Churchill (Ire), Pariah and Spieth (NZ).

The catalogue also contains siblings to recent G1 Robert Sangster S. winner Bella Vella (Commands), G1 Queensland Derby victor Sonntag (Teofilo {Ire}) Group 2 winners Fiesta (I Am Invincible) and Trusting (Tale Of The Cat {USA}), Group 3 winner Sprightly Lass (Snitzel) and Listed winner Spending To Win (Snitzel).

This season’s 2-year-old stakes winners Dame Giselle (I Am Invincible), Untamed (Pierro), Extra Time (Shooting To Win) and Jyoti (Akeed Mofeed {GB}) also have siblings in the catalogue and also weanlings out of high-quality mares including Nurse Kitchen (NZ) (Savabeel), Sister Madly (Redoute’s Choice), Hi Belle (Clangalang), Montoya’s Secret (High Chaparral {Ire}) and Graceful Anna (Canny Lad).

Sale graduates include the champion sprinter Redzel (Snitzel), Group 1 winners Begood Toya Mother (Myboycharlie {Ire}), Spright (Hinchinbrook), Leicester (Wanted) and dual Group 3 winner Houtzen (I Am Invincible).

The Great Southern Sale has grown significantly in stature in recent year with graduates the quality of the G1 Lightning winner Gytrash (Lope De Vega {Ire}), G1 Victoria Derby winner Extra Brut (Domesday), G1 Schweppes Oaks winner Sopressa (So You Think {NZ}) and the G2 VRC Sires’ Produce S. winner Lunar Fox.

This year’s catalogue of 276 lots is another strong collation of weanlings with Exceed And Excel, Not A Single Doubt, More Than Ready (USA), Into Mischief (USA), Written Tycoon, Dundeel (NZ), Tavistock (NZ), So You Think (NZ), Toronado (Ire) and Smart Missile all represented.

First-season stallions Merchant Navy, Russian Revolution, Tosen Stardom (Jpn), Highland Reel (Ire), Impending, Almanzor (Fr) and Thronum also have youngsters entered.

Supplementary entries for the Australian Weanling Sale close on June 26 while supplementary entries for the Great Southern Sale close on July 1.
