Flemington, Listed AR Creswick S., $112,000, 1200m
Race summary
The lightly-raced Front Page (Magnus) rose majestically to the toughest test of his career when he thumped a smart field of 3-year-olds.
He settled off the leading division and when rider Lewis German pressed the button the response was electric and the gelding streaked clear.
Hi Stranger (Zoffany {Ire}) found the line strongly for second and Merited (Fastnet Rock) stayed on gamely after being in or near the lead.
Pedigree notes

They are out of Stacey Lee (Bel Esprit), also a five-time winner, and she is a daughter of Curio Jade (Varick {USA}). She was successful twice and finished third in the G1 Queensland Classic.
There is an international flavour further back in the pedigree through the presence of the G2 Belmont True North H. winner and sire Diablo (USA) and the Listed winners Fair Apache (USA) (Bertrando {USA}) and her daughters Cougarstown (USA) (Speightstown {USA}) and Elevenses (USA) (More Than Ready {USA}).
Doomben, Listed Mitavite The Phoenix, $125,000, 1615m
Race summary
The Actuary (Sebring) continued to show her progression by coming off her maiden victory to claim a black type event.
She settled toward the back of the field on the fence and rider Baylee Nothdurft was able to weave his way through the field in the straight to hit the front 100 metres from home and surge clear.
Toscanini (Fastnet Rock) did well to run second after being forced to race wide and Outburst (Real Impact {Jpn}) stuck to his task well for third after being under pressure at the top of the straight.
Pedigree notes
The Actuary was a $450,000 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale purchase and is a half-sister to the Listed Twilight Glow S. winner Persuader (Zoustar).
Their dam Fast Talker (Fastnet Rock) was a multiple winner and stakes performer and is a half-sister to the G3 Heath S. winner Crystal Dreamer (Stratum), who also placed in the G1 Oakleigh Plate.
Their dam Crystal Wit (Distorted Humor {USA}) is a half-sister to the G1 Golden Slipper S. winner Crystal Lily (Stratum) and the black type winners Amaethon (Al Maher) and Crystal Web (Hard Spun {USA}).
Belmont, Listed Waroa Belmont Guineas, $100,000, 1600m
Race summary
Kay Cee (Playing God) was a red-hot favourite off the back of her resuming win in the Listed Raconteur S. and she gave her army of supporters a fright before justifying her support.
The filly settled at the back of the field and needed plenty of persuasion from rider Steven Parnham to get her head in front on the post.
Cambist (Gingerbread Man) gave the hot pot a serious test before finally going under with the consistent Laverrod (Toronado {Ire}) taking third money.
Pedigree notes
Kay Cee is a daughter of Flirt ‘N’ Hope (McFlirt {NZ}), who was winless during a brief career and she is out of Lizzy Long Legs (Steel Glow).
She was a smart mare who won nine races with victory in the G3 Scahill S. her career highlight.
There are no other black type winners present in the first three generations and further back in the pedigree is Jack The Stripper (NZ) (Defecting Dancer {GB}), successful at Group 2 level in the Great Northern Guineas and the Wellington Guineas.
