Pedigree Boosters - National Sale

3 min read

In today’s Pedigree Boosters, we highlight a broodmare, a weanling and a yearling who will be offered during the Magic Millions National Sale series, all of whom have had substantial updates to their pedigree pages.

Broodmare - Lot 84, Tatcee (Foxwedge x Hides (Giant's Causeway {USA}) - On account of Blue Sky Premier Consignment

A win in the lead-up to the sale is always regarded as a big boost and Tatcee, who has been trained by Chris Waller, did herself a favour with a recent victory at Ipswich, her fifth in a 30-start career. The rest of her family have also been helping things, with close relatives Aswaat (Deep Field) and Elusive Nature (Sepoy) winning races at Pakenham and Murray Bridge respectively.

But adding some real international class to the page is Hello Youmzain (Fr) (Kodiac {GB}), a relative to this mare who won the G1 Diamond Jubilee S. at Royal Ascot last month for his connections, which include Cambridge Stud.

Weanling - Lot 1026 - Merchant Navy x Around The Clock (Galileo {Ire}) - On account of Aquis Farm

This filly's half-brother Hall Of Fame (NZ) (Savabeel) was already a Group 1 winner in New Zealand and now has a G3 HKJC Premier Plate into the mix under the name of Dances With Dragon after his recent success.

Lot 1026 - Merchant Navy x Around The Clock

That's a strong international update to the pedigree which already features the G1 Victoria Derby winner Nothin' Leica Dane (Danehill {USA}), who is a three-quarter brother to the second dam Night And Day (Catbird). Group 2 winner Duelled (Redoute's Choice) and Group 1-placed Thrilling Day (Prego {Ire}) also feature on the page.

Yearling - Lot 1291 - American Pharoah (USA) x Pearl Star (Star Witness) - On account of KBL Thoroughbreds

This colt, being one of only four American Pharoahs in the sale, is sure to create interest and that interest has only been heightened by the impressive win of his half-brother Cumberbatch (I Am Invincible) at Pakenham last Sunday. The Mick Price-trained 2-year-old impressed at his third start and looks likely to measure up to city class.

Lot 1291 - American Pharoah (USA) x Pearl Star

Their dam, Pearl Star, won a Listed Dequetteville S. and was further twice placed in stakes company. She comes from the family of G1 VRC Sires' Produce S. winner Spectatorial (Spectrum {Ire}) and stakes-winner Reign Of Honour (NZ) (Military Plume {NZ}).
