A close relation to champion stallion Fastnet Rock offered in foal to Champion first-season stallion elect Pride Of Dubai topped the Inglis Digital July (Late) Online Sale, selling for $140,000.

The Sale had a 79 per cent clearance and grossed $2.1 million, marking the 19th consecutive occasion the Digital Sale has grossed more than $1 million.

Coolmore offered 11 mares in foal for unreserved sale and secured the sale's top price for the winning mare, Rotterdam (Pierro), who is in foal to Pride Of Dubai.

She is out of Sarasota (Danehill {USA}), the sister to champion stallion Fastnet Rock and was purchased by William Johnson Bloodstock. Her racing career featured a winning debut for Anthony Cummings at Kembla Grange before she was unplaced in the G3 PJ Bell S.

She has already had a colt by Churchill (Ire), who is about to become a yearling and was then offered on a September cover by Pride Of Dubai.

Her dam, Sarasota was also sold, fetching $37,500 in foal to Churchill, with Doug Walker the winning bidder.

Of the racehorses on offer, Illawarra businessman Tory Lavall paid $135,000 for smart maiden Sharpshooter (Hinchinbrook).

The colt, a $280,000 purchase for China Horse Club from last year's Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, has been placed at all four runs for Peter and Paul Snowden as a 2-year-old.

A half-brother to stakes-winner Caipirinha (Nicconi) as well as Hong Kong-based Victorious Seeker (Sebring), from the family of Group winners Burrito (Marscay) and Collate (Catbird), he will likely head to Kembla Grange-based trainer Brett Lazzarini, who usually prepares Lavall's horses.

The well-related Snitzel colt Urban Warrior was also offered by Newgate and was sold to Jeff Baldacchino for $65,000.

Purchased by China Horse Club and Newgate for $370,000 at last year's Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, he is out of Listed-winning mare Urban Groove (Charge Forward), who is a granddaughter of Group 1 winner Heat Of The Moment (Blazing Saddles).

He has had four starts for the Snowdens and was recently placed in a Hawkesbury maiden.

The third of Newgate's horses to sell was I Am Bolt (I Am Invincible) for $30,000 to Luke and Natalie Jarvis.

“We’ve been trading with Inglis Digital since day one, it’s obviously a great platform to trade stock through, it’s a true marketplace backed by simple but effective technology,” Newgate's Henry Field said.

“Put it this way – we’ve sold 80 horses on Inglis Digital for a 100 per cent clearance rate, more than $2.6 million and most importantly, we’ve sold tons of winners through the platform and nothing brings the customers back like results.

“The scope of this market is boundless, I’ve often said it’s the way of the future and that’s evident in how educated vendors have become with quality videos and photos now the norm.

“For Newgate, it’s been a valuable tool for our business, we’ve built this network with online buyers from all parts of Australia and into South East Asia – people can pick up the phone and discuss each horse – the key is a transparent marketplace.

“In terms of Sharpshooter, he was a horse that I recommended to a number of people, he’s a city-class, lightly raced 2-year-old that will give his new connections plenty of fun,” Field said.

Stakes-placed mare Schilldora (Artie Schiller {USA}), who won for Richard and Chantelle Jolly at Morphettville on Saturday also reached a price of $135,000.

Lot 80 - Schilldora

A winner of five of her 21 starts, she once beat subsequent Group 1 winner Gytrash (Lope De Vega {Ire}) in a race at Morphettville, while she was placed in a Listed Wylie S. and finished fourth in the G3 Typhoon Tracy S.

Bred by Emirates Park, Schilldora was a $25,000 yearling purchase for the Jollys. She is one of two stakes-performers from Hussidora (Hussonet {USA}), the other being Dreams Of Platinum (Dream Ahead {USA}).

She was sold to Elwyn and Andrew Rea.

"I saw her win on Saturday at Morphettville and then it was mentioned on Racing.com that she was currently being offered on Inglis Digital,” Andrew Rea said.

“Dad has been involved in bloodstock for as long as I can remember, and we’re excited to have secured a mare of her quality, she will likely head straight to the breeding barn and being by Artie Schiller out of a Hussonet mare, she’s open to a range of stallion options.

“Her dam Hussidora is still a young mare and has now produced two stakes performers in Schilldora and Dreams Of Platinum so I think there’s more to come from her."

Others to be sold included Listed winner Main Stage (NZ) (Reliable Man {GB}), who reached a price of $55,000, and the broodmare Metallic Spark (Helmet), the half-sister to Listed winner Sparks Fly (Flying Spur), who sold for $60,000 to Lavalle, in foal to Brazen Beau.

Inglis Digital will kick off the 2020/21 season with the August (Early) Online Sale featuring more than 120 soon-to-be yearlings as part of the Inglis Great Southern Sale.
