Unraced colt Lambardi (Fastnet Rock), a $1.1 million Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale purchase, came out on top of Inglis’ August (Late) Online Sale, selling to Wollongong-based owner Tory Lavalle for $100,000.

The 3-year-old was offered by Coolmore as agent and was previously trained by Chris Waller. He had a number of trials with his best performance being when he finished fifth in a field of seven runners.

“We’re just trying to improve our stable of horses in Kembla Grange with trainer Brett Lazzarini, we have honed in on the tried horses this year as we have also purchased six yearlings recently but obviously it’s a longer wait for them to hit the track in comparison,” Lavalle said.

“We thought Lambardi has potential, he’s unraced but has had a few trials and he’s a $1.1 million yearling so he’s a great looking horse.

“We did our homework and got him vet checked, so the plan is to geld him, which was recommended by the vendor, and see how he progresses from there.

“We’ve focused on the tried horses to help build the stable. We’ve got about 16 now and really the aim is to snag a race here and there to pay the bills and have some fun in the process.”

Lambardi

Lambardi is the only named foal out of the Group 1 performed mare Ballet Suite (High Chaparral {Ire}), who herself is a half-sister to Listed Talindert S. winner Casquets (Fastnet Rock), South African Grade 1 placegetter Furiosa (Fastnet Rock) and G3 Frank Packer Plate third Merensky Reef (Platinum Scissors).

Further back, this is also the family of G2 Alister Clark S. winner Flak Jacket (Rubiton) and Listed Port Adelaide Cup Maunatrice (Keltrice).

3-year-old gelding Reignite (Sebring) and 5-year-old mare Foxpack (Foxwedge) were the equal second top lots of the sale, selling for $80,000 a piece.

Offered by Newgate and purchased by David Ellis, Reignite was originally purchased for $800,000 at the Magic Millions Coast Yearling Sale and has had three starts for Peter and Paul Snowden, with his best performance coming on debut when finishing fourth to talented colt Doubtland (Not A Single Doubt).

He is one of four foals out of Listed winner Risk Aversion (Encosta De Lago), who herself is a half-sister to stakes scorers Shania Dane (Danehill {USA}) and Scintillation (Danehill {USA}). Further down the page is G2 Hobartville S. winner Man From Uncle (Uncle Mo {USA}).

Foxpack was secured by Two Bays Farm after being offered by Robert Heathcote as agent.

She has had 18 starts for four wins and four placings, earning $113,745 in prizemoney.

Out of American stakes-winning mare Twelve Pack Shelly (USA) (Deputy Storm {USA}), Foxpack is a sister to Listed winner and G3 San Domenico S. third Kentucky Miss (Foxwedge).
