Top mare tough to roll

G1 Kirin Railway S., $1,000,000, 1600m

Kay Cee (Playing God) returned to winning ways last time out in the G2 Lee Steere S. following an unplaced first-up effort. She has an excellent course and distance record, including success in last season’s G1 Kingston Town Classic on the track, and can now add another top-flight feature.

Inspirational Girl (NZ) (Reliable Man {GB}) was a tidy winner of the G3 Asian Beau S. and while this is a step up, she does have the benefit of a handy pull in the weights with only 53kg. Her stablemate Truly Great (Dundeel {NZ}) boasts a similar profile after his win in the G3 RJ Peters S.

Kay Cee

Red Can Man (Gingerbread Man) and Kementari (Lonhro) chased Kay Cee home at their last meeting and similar efforts will see them competitive again while Gailo Chop (Fr) (Deportivo {GB}) has been freshened and won a recent trial.

Too Close The Sun (Carlton House {USA}) has come back well this campaign with victory at his most recent outing in the Listed Ascot Gold and third-up here promises to be a major player.

Material Man (Vital Equine {Ire}) has an excellent fresh record and has had the benefit of a couple of trials while Taxagano (Rogano) is capable, but not the easiest to follow and Uni Time (Universal Ruler) wasn’t far away in the Lee Steere and a hope at longer odds.

Follow Kallaroo again

G2 Sky Racing WA Guineas, $500,000, 1600m

With the benefit of a first-up placing under his belt, Kallaroo (All American) finished powerfully to land the Listed Fairetha S. and in a manner that the step up to a mile won’t worry him in this.

Gemma’s Son (Snippetson) is ultra-consistent and his run against the older horses for fourth in the G2 Lee Steere S. was a sterling effort. He has to be a tough nut to crack back against his own age group.

Dom To Shoot (Shooting To Win) was seventh in that race after getting a long way back from an outside gate and made ground in the latter stages. He has a better draw and deserves another chance.

Shaun McGruddy is staying with the filly Watch Me Dance (I’m All The Talk), a last-start winner of the G3 Champion Fillies’ S. and they loom as major players on that performance.

Western Empire (NZ) (Iffraaj {GB}) was a sound second in the Fairetha. He’s yet to win, but a genuine chance if he gets in off the ballot.

Winning run to continue

Listed TAB Touch Placid Ark S., $100,000, 1200m

Chantorque (War Chant {USA}) is unbeaten this preparation and she promises to remain so from a perfect barrier for regular rider McGruddy. She has also won all three of her starts on the course.

Mystical View (Canford Cliffs {Ire}) was out of the money in the G3 Champion Fillies’ S. over a mile and she promises to be more of a threat back in trip and Charlton Eddie (Shooting To Win) has experience on his side and is racing particularly well.

Acromantula (Written Tycoon) was a stylish debut winner and no reason why the colt can’t go to the next level with the run under his belt while Queen Brown (Patronize) has been below par in her last two, but has won on the track over this trip so can be accorded a chance at longer odds.

Tycoon to whip up a Storm

Listed Crown Perth Jungle Mist Classic, $100,000, 1200m

Tycoon Storm (Written Tycoon) has fashioned a smart record with six wins from 10 starts and her last two on the bounce. She now looks ready to add black type to her resume.

Flower Of War (War Chant {USA}) is well-suited by the conditions of the race and a drop back from the G3 Prince Of Wales S. and Special Choice (Redoute’s Choice) is another hunting a hat-trick and among the top chances.

Lonsdale Lady (Maschino) has been freshened and has a handy first-up record to back her claims while Ration Ally (My Admiration) is a promising type resuming. She has only been beaten once and has trialled since her last success in September.

Easier assignment

Listed Carbine Club Of WA S., $100,000, 1400m

Laverrod (Toronado {Ire}) was a winner on the course two runs back and wasn’t far away when unplaced last time out in the G2 Lee Steere S. This is an assignment more in his comfort zone.

Flow (Street Cry {Ire}) is deserving of a major prize after three runner-up finishes from his last four appearances and he’s sure to be competitive again while Neufbosc (Fr) (Mastercraftsman {Ire}) is racing soundly and third-up should be at peak fitness.

Serenity Bay (Rogano) is a progressive mare and a hope with a touch of luck from a tricky gate and Festival Miss (Berdardini {USA}) is sure to be improved for her resuming run. Point Taken (Demerit) won well enough last time out to suggest she’s capable of footing it in a stronger grade.
