The James Cummings-trained Vianello (Teofilo {Ire}) became the sixth juvenile winner for Godolphin so far this season as she took out the Australian Bloodstock 2YO Maiden at Newcastle on Tuesday.
Off the back of a 3.75l trial win at Hawkesbury, the daughter of former Darley shuttler Teofilo (Ire) started as the short-priced favourite for the 900 metre race and was forced to settle three-wide with cover in the run after jumping from a wide barrier.
Completely unfazed by her wide draw, the filly loomed up around the bend under Christian Reith and scooted past the leaders at the 200 metre mark, going on to win by 1.5l.

“She’s a very professional type of filly and she’s very neat,” stable representative Darren Beadman said.
“It’s her first day out at the races today and she came up after spending a couple of hours on the float and stood there like she’d had five starts, so there’s a lot more upside to her.
“She’s got speed but it was good that she was able to just sit off them and finish off strong.”
Vianello’s stablemate Alice Through (Snitzel) finished 0.8l away in third and Beadman said there was plenty more to come from the $600,000 yearling purchase.

“They bought her at the Magic Millions and she’s a full sister to Chauffeur, but she’ll gain a lot of improvement out of that run,” he said. “She drew a bit sticky but finished off well.
“The staff have done a tremendous job with her because she’s been a little bit quirky but it’s a good way for them to start their career.”
Vianello was bred by Godolphin and is the third foal to race out of multiple Listed-placed mare Serenissima (Lonhro), who is also responsible for the stakes-placed Nonpareil (Commands).
Serenissima is a daughter of the stakes-winning Santissima (Quest For Fame {GB}), who herself is out of G2 San Domenico S. winner Sashed (NZ) (Sir Tristram {Ire}), making her a half-sister to multiple Group 1 winner Freemason (Grand Lodge {USA}).
