Tasmanian yearling sale catalogue launches

The Tasmanian Magic Millions Yearling Sale has delivered a return on investment like few others in recent years, to which John Sargent and Mitchell Bloodstock can attest.

Their $25,000 purchase from February’s Tasmanian Yearling Sale, Readily Availabull (Bull Point) charged home late for an impressive win in the $250,000 Magic Millions 2YO Clockwise Classic at Ballarat, delivering a very quick and lucrative return on his sale price. He will line up in January’s $2 million The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions 2YO Classic to expand on that record.

Whether the colt wins or not, his trainer and agent will likely be back hunting at Launceston in February for the next value purchase from the 122 lot catalogue launched on Thursday.

The Sale features youngsters by 51 individual sires including the first crops of seven stallions. Local sire Zululand will be making his sale debut for Grenville Stud with 18 lots entered, while other first-season sires include Impending, Gold Standard and Inference.

A graduate of the Tasmanian Sale, Group 1 winner Palentino will be represented by progeny from his second crop. Needs Further, sire of Sale pin-up mare Mystic Journey, has 13 progeny in the catalogue.

The Sale will be held at a new venue this February, at Quercus Park in Carrick near Launceston.
