Listed Sneddon Bros Gosford Guineas, $150,000, 1500m
Race Review
Forbidden Love (All Too Hard) came into the race with an imposing form line and so it proved as the filly proved far too good to win with a great deal of authority.
Third in the G1 Empire Rose S. at Flemington at her previous start, she settled three wide with cover and when rider James McDonald asked her for an serious effort from the top of the straight she responded and kicked clear after hitting front 150 metres from home.
The Face (Rubick) raced outside the leader and he fought on to take second money with Marsannay (Snitzel) and encouraging third in his first appearance since finishing third in the G3 Up & Coming S. back in August.
Pedigree notes
Bred by Kerry O’Brien Thoroughbreds, Forbidden Love was bought out of Bhima Thoroughbreds’ draft at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale by co-trainer Richard Freedman for $150,000.
She is a daughter of the five-time winner and black type performer Juliet’s Princess (USA) (More Than Ready {USA}) and she is out of three-quarter sister to the G3 Belmont Tempted S. winner Better Now (USA) (Thunder Gulch {USA}) and a half-sister to dual Group 3 winner River Squall (USA) (Summer Squall {USA}).
By Vinery Stud’s All Too Hard, sire of 19 individual stakes winners, Forbidden Love’s pedigree page also includes the G2 Bill Stutt S. winner, two-time Group 1 placegetter and sire Churchill Downs.
G3 Gosford RSL Belle Of The Turf S., $160,000, 1600m
