Apache Chase (Better Than Ready) is a free-going type and he bowled along outside the leader Fleet Dove (Not A Single Doubt) for rider Taylor Marshall.
When the gelding was asked to get serious in the straight, he was quickly into top gear and raced away to win by a comfortable 1.75l.
The favourite Gotta Kiss (Not A Single Doubt) settled in behind the pace on the fence and she finished off generously for second with the Sydney visitors Oscar Zulu (Epaulette) and Black Duke (Fiorente {Ire) the next pair home.

Bred by Eureka Thoroughbreds, Apache Chase was bought out of its Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale draft by Queenslander Michael Sherrin for $50,000.
He is a son of Silken Whisper (USA) (Diesis {GB}), the winner of one race in England, who was bought by Eureka for $170,000 at the Magic Millions Broodmare Sale. Her first foal was the G2 Bill Stutt S. winner and sire Churchill Downs.
She has produced a further six winners and is out of a half-sister to the stakes winners Professor Rabbit (USA) (Arts And Letters {USA} and Rilial (USA) (Sir Ivor {USA}).
Apache Chase is the second Group 3 winner sired by Better Than Ready following the success of Alpine Edge in the BJ McLachlan S.

Race summary
Athiri (Lonhro) headed to Queensland in outstanding form off the back of success in the Listed Razor Sharp S. at Randwick and she had no trouble adding to her black type record.
She settled within striking distance of the leaders for jockey Nash Rawiller and she came with a well-timed finish to win for the fifth time in her 17-start career and a further six placings emphasise her genuine nature.
Boomtown Lass (Spirit Of Boom) was runner-up in the Listed Bribie S. at her previous appearance ands the game mare had to settle for second again with Wild Vixen (Foxwedge) arriving late for third.
