Dosh (Rich Enuff) backed up her impressive G3 Ottawa S. win on debut with an impressive victory here to firmly stamp herself as a contender for next month’s G1 Blue Diamond S.

Under the guidance of Jordan Childs, Dosh went straight to the front from the inside barrier and still had plenty left in the tank at the top of the straight, fighting off numerous challenges to score by 0.5l.

Tayla’s Moment (Shalaa {Ire}) flashed home to finish second while short-priced favourite Frost Flowers (Frosted {USA}) had every chance but could only score third, another 0.1l.

Pedigree notes

Race summary

At just his fourth start in Australia, imported galloper Skymax (Ger) (Maxios {GB}), who is trained by Mark Newnham, scored his maiden stakes win here under proactive riding from young jockey Robbie Dolan.

The gelding settled third-last in the initial stages of the race before Dolan opted to get going at the 1600 metre mark and he circled the field to go and take up the lead. It was from there that the gelding settled into a nice rhythm before getting going approaching the bend and holding off Wolfe (Jpn) (Novellist {Ire}) to win by 0.2l.

The Joe Pride-trained Kaapfever (NZ) (Sufficient {NZ}) finished off well to come home another 3l away in third.
