Torryburn Classic Yearling Highlights

Sponsored by
3 min read

Torryburn Stud is pleased to present a well-rounded draft of 18 yearlings at the 2021 Inglis Classic sale.

We have yearlings from a variety of proven, freshman, rising stars and ‘bread and butter’ sires. Including Zoustar, So You Think (NZ), Dundeel (NZ), Pride Of Dubai, Winning Rupert, Caravaggio (USA), Choisir, Your Song, Denman, Supido, Merchant Navy and Russian Revolution.

The Team are thrilled to be back at Riverside. The mood and atmosphere is fantastic and it looks to be a fun week of talking all things horses and racing as we show our horses moving into the sale days on the weekend.

Following on from last year’s Inglis Classic Sale topper we also relish the recent group 1 win in Hong Kong of Hot King Prawn (Denman) who was sold by Torryburn at the 2016 Inglis Classic Sale and makes him the second Group 1 winner from a Torryburn Classic draft, the first being Peggy Jean (Myboycharlie {Ire}) the winner of the G1 Inglis Sires' Produce S.

It’s a draft of old and new with last foals from De Chorus (Unbridled's Song {USA}) who has the full brother to Hot King Prawn and Raheights (Rahy {USA}) the dam of last year's Classic Sale topper, and the speedy Diddums (Snitzel) winner of the G3 PJ Bell S. Along with first foals with black type at 2-years-old Memento (Your Song) and McCartney (NZ) (Alamosa {NZ}) half-sister to top 2-year-old filly in NZ Serena Miss (Iffraaj {GB}).

Lot 249 - Russian Revolution x Progressive (colt)

A quality, strong, fluent-moving colt from the city-winning Street Cry (Ire) mare Progressive. Extremely balanced with a huge over-step and a smart head, we are confident he will attract some attention along with the $500,000 Newgate bonus incentive.

Lot 84 - Pride Of Dubai X Lady Balmain (colt)

Lady Balmain (Sebring) is the full sister to Supido, now a sire and the fastest son of Sebring.

The family is arguably the best stallion-producing family in the world – the family of Champion sires Northern Dancer (Can), Machiavellian (USA), Halo (NZ) and Danehill (USA).

A first foal who is a very forward, strong, 2-year-old type from the well-related mare Mccartney, a half-sister to Serena Miss and Gifted Lad (NZ) (Zabeel {NZ}). A filly that will be tough and should go early.

Lot 364 - Caravaggio (USA) x Tale Of Love (colt)

An incredibly racy type of colt that fills the eye with his muscular physique. This Tale Of The Cat (USA) mare produces runners and he looks along that vein.

A most handsome colt from Shoot Fer Love (Ferocity), a half-sister to Group winners Shoot Out (High Chaparral {Ire}), Cassandra Shadow (Johannesburg {USA}), I'm A Princess (High Chaparral {Ire}) and dam of 10-time winner Silvera (High Chaparral {Ire}). Free moving with a great strength to him.
