Silverdale Farm is a unique private broodmare and spelling farm located in the beautiful region of the Southern Highlands of NSW, southwest from Sydney near Bowral and close to the coastal area of Kiama.
Candidates must be motivated and have a “can-do” attitude and be passionate about working with horses. Previous experience working on stud farms is highly advantageous.
The role:
• Feeding, grooming
• Handle horses of various ages
• Mucking boxes, general farm cleaning and tidying
• Keeping checks on horses general health
• Rugging horses
• Assisting with vet work
• Preparation for horses sales
Desirable Experience:
• Able to work as part of an extended team as well as work autonomously
• Experience handling horses
• Positive and friendly manner

Balcrest Stud - Stud Manager
Balcrest Stud has a position available for an experienced and skilled Stud Manager.
We are a small boutique thoroughbred horse and cattle property based on 110-hectares in the picturesque Adelaide Hills - just five minutes from Balhannah and 30 minutes from the Adelaide CBD. Balcrest has a long-standing reputation for producing quality horses and is widely respected in the South Australian breeding industry. We breed 10 to 12 mares each season and sell eight to 10 yearlings each year through the Magic Millions Sale in Adelaide. We race a small group of homebred fillies and have a breeding herd of approximately 50 to 60 beef cattle on the property.
Key responsibilities of the role include all aspects of cattle and thoroughbred horse management including ensuring the health and well-being of up to 12 broodmares, their foals and a herd of beef cattle. Managing the breeding program, records management, feed rotation, property maintenance of stables, arenas, fencing and boundaries, and managing a team of up to five farm and livestock hands.
The ideal candidate will be experienced with:
· Foaling mares, weaning and spelling racehorses
· Handling and preparing thoroughbred yearlings for sale
· Tractor, haymaking, feed rotation and general farm work
· Farm, plant and machinery maintenance scheduling and repairs
· Stud management – planning, bloodline recording etc.
· Management and supervision of a small team
To be successful in this role you must be physically fit, reliable, and be available on the weekends. We are looking at a commencement date in mid-March and have a two-bedroom house on the property that could be made available for the successful applicant at market rental rates.

Stable Financial - Bookkeeper
Stable Financial is a highly respected accounting firm that specialises in the thoroughbred industry representing many leading industry participants including breeders, owners, trainers, syndicators etc. An exciting opportunity exists for a passionate and motivated bookkeeper to join our team.
Role includes:
• Reconcile bank statements
• Accounts payable and accounts receivable reconciliations
• BAS/PAYG monthly lodgement and payment
• Fortnightly/monthly payroll including superannuation and payroll tax
• Liaise with accountants to produce an annual financial statement
• Establish and maintain a range of databases and records systems
• Produce a number of different accounting and management reports using MYOB and/or Xero reports
• Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS's) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS's)
• Prepare ATO applications such as ABN, TFN, GST and PAYG
• Participate in external and internal training as required
Your skills and experience:
• Strong knowledge and experience with Xero and MYOB
• Excellent use of Word, Excel and Outlook
• Passion for the horse racing industry
