Mosh Music gets big chance
Listed Ladbrokes Torney Night Cup, $150,000, 2500m
One of only two Australian-bred horses in the Torney Night Cup, the Archie Alexander-trained Mosh Music (Moshe) gets a big chance to add a stakes race to his resume on Friday night.
A winner of eight of his 15 starts, the progressive stayer was placed in a G3 JRA Cup at this track last year and comes off a win over subsequent G3 Hobart Cup winner Double You Tee (Written Tycoon) at Sandown last time out.
In what is an open race, the Peter Moody-trained Stars Of Carrum (Fiorente {Ire}), who was once runner-up in a G1 VRC Derby but has not won a race since claiming the G2 Moonee Valley Vase as a 3-year-old, is also afforded a chance.
He was fourth in that Sandown race won by Mosh Music but was only beaten just over 1l and gets a swing in the weights to his advantage.

Ciaron Maher and David Eustace's Bartholomeu Dias (GB) (Mount Nelson {GB}) was third in the same Sandown race and is unbeaten over the 2500 metre distance of this contest. He also drops in weight on his last start and gets Craig Williams on board.
Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott present Vaidyann (Fr) (Footstepsinthedsand {GB}) for his first Victorian start and he still looks to have improvement in him based on the fact he has only had 11 starts, and he will make his own luck on the speed here.
Starcaster (GB) (Dansili {GB}), a winner at this track and distance in benchmark grade last time out, is another capable of improving for Anthony and Sam Freedman having run along well for Jamie Kah here a couple of weeks ago.
