Moonee Valley, Typhoon Tracy S. $160,000, 1400m
Race summary
Consistent filly Macroura (Snitzel) reigned supreme, accounting for a field of quality 3-year-olds under metropolitan premiership leader Jamie Kah.
The Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained galloper put her self into the race early, breaking cleanly into stride before settling one out one back with cover.
From there Kah was able to plot an uninterrupted path towards the finish line, eventually picking up leader, Rainbeil (Toronado {IRE}) in the final 50 metres.
Rainebeil himself lost no admirers in a tough front running performance. He stuck on to finish a brave second after working hard early to cross from barrier 13.
Supreme Idea (I Am Invincible) made ground in the concluding stages, finishing 0.4l third after settling in the box seat from barrier 2.
Pedigree notes
Macroura was bred by Aquis Farm and is the first of three foals out of unraced mare Zenaida (NZ) (Zabeel). She is a half-sister to three-time New Zealand Group 1 winning gelding and 2009/2010 New Zealand Horse of the Year, Vosne Romanee (Electronic Zone {USA}).
Zenaida’s dam Madison Avenue (Morcon {GB}) is half-sister to G2 VRC Queen Elizabeth S. winner and G1 Sydney Cup runner up, Hear That Bell (Ring The Bell).
Zenaida’s most recent foal Noble Exception (Exceed And Excel) is an unraced colt purchased by J Huynh for $380,000 at the 2020 Inglis Easter Yearling Sales.
