Coolmore's So You Think (NZ) was the busiest stallion in Australia during the 2020 breeding season, with the Australian Studbook publishing the full list of coverings by all sires last spring.
So You Think, who stood at $38,500 (inc GST), served a book of 261 mares, by far the biggest in his nine-year stud career, and a jump of the 234 he covered in 2019.

Newgate's Capitalist had the second biggest book in the country, with 237 covers at a service fee of $44,000 (inc GST). Those who supported the stallion would be rapt with the way his first crop have performed on the track in their first season.
Swettenham Stud's Toronado (Ire), like So You Think a son of High Chaparral (Ire), was third on the list, and first for the Victorian-based stallions, with 210 at $27,500 (inc GST).
The Everest winner Yes Yes Yes was the most popular of the first-season sires, with 205 covers at his introductory fee of $38,500 (inc GST) at Coolmore, while barnmate Pride Of Dubai, the Champion first-season stallion of 2019/20, had 203.

Newgate's Deep Field's 200 covers at $55,000 (inc GST) is the fifth time in six years he has had 200 or more mares.
Written Tycoon's first season at Arrowfield attracted a book of 199, three more than barnmate Dundeel (NZ).
Australia's highest priced advertised stallion at $209,000 (inc GST), I Am Invincible, served 193 mares.
Champion sire I Am Invincible again proved popular amongst breeders
Lyndhurst Stud Farm's Rothesay led the way for Queensland-based stallions, with his book rocketing to 177 from 98 off the back of Rothfire's Group 1-winning heroics.
Armidale Stud's Alpine Eagle led all Tasmanian stallions with his book of 138, while WA's busiest stallion was Sessions on 120, and South Australia, Sir Prancealot (Ire) on 94.
