Pedigree Boosters - Inglis Easter Yearling Sale

3 min read

In the build up to the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, we have picked out three yearlings who have had substantial pedigree updates in the past couple of months.

Today, we take a closer look at a Not A Single Doubt filly whose Group 1-winning half-brother has delivered further stakes credits, a Pierro colt and a son of Capitalist who have both received timely Group 2 boosts.

Lot 146 – Not A Single Doubt x Vasilissa (Jpn) (Heart’s Cry {Jpn}) – On Account of Arrowfield Stud

This filly’s dam has already done an outstanding job in a broodmare role with her first foal Tagaloa (Lord Kanaloa {Jpn}) successful in last season’s G1 Blue Diamond S., and since the catalogue was printed the colt has added the G3 CS Hayes S. to his record and finished third in the G1 Caulfield Guineas.

Vasilissa is a half-sister to the Japanese black-type winner Tricolore Bleu (Jpn) (Stay Gold {Jpn}) and they are out of the G3 Newbury Fred Darling S. winner Penkenna Princess (Ire) (Pivotal {GB}). Arrowfield Stud’s filly has an abundance of residual value with the added promise that she has inherited the family’s racetrack ability.

A timely update was provided for this colt when his half-sister Four Moves Ahead (Snitzel) followed up a debut win with victory in the G2 Sweet Embrace S., and was then the best of the fillies when a meritorious fourth in the G1 Golden Slipper S. She is trained by John Sargent who also won the G3 Angst S. with another half-sister in Emeralds (Sebring).

Their dam is an unraced half-sister to the G1 Longchamp Prix de l’Opera heroine Dalkala (USA) (Giant’s Causeway {USA}) and a rich international pedigree that features half-brothers Dalakhani (Ire) and Daylami (Ire), both former European Horses of the Year, multiple Group 1 winners and sires.
