Beauden to boom

Rotorua, G3 Campbell Infrastructure Rotorua Cup, $75,000, 2200m

Beauden (Bullbars) has been flying in recent times having won four of his last six. He drops right back in class for this event and can assert his dominance even with 60.5kgs on his back.

The older sibling to superstar Australian mare, Verry Elleegant (NZ) (Zed {NZ}), Verry Flash can make amends for her recent poor showings and return to the winners stall with an ounce of luck from barrier three. She will relish stepping up in trip from 1600 to 2200 metres.

Paisley Park (NZ) (Azamour {Ire}) produced a much-improved effort last start at Te Rapa over 2100 metres and can build on that to figure prominently here, while the Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman-trained Spring Delight (NZ) (Tavistock {NZ}) looks ready to peak here third up.

Supreme success

Rotorua, G3 Rydges Rotorua S., $70,000, 1400m

Supreme Heights (NZ) (Jimmy Choux {NZ}) draws awkwardly in barrier thirteen here but can prevail on class alone. She sticks to 1400 metres and will be hard to run down with fitness on her side.

Crowning Star (Hallowed Crown) presents as the main danger. Drawn in barrier four she maps to secure a lovely run and can produce a powerful run to make it two-from-two this time in.

Torre Del Grecco (NZ) (Mattre En Jeu {NZ}) is a consistent 6-year-old having finished in the money at 24 of her 45 career starts, and while she hasn’t won since January expect her to produce a big effort here.

Pop Star Princess (NZ) (Makfi {NZ}) looks the best of the rest and can win without surprising if she can score some cover from barrier ten.
