Muswellbrook Race Club - General Manager

Muswellbrook Race Club is currently seeking applications for the position of General Manager.

Muswellbrook Race Club is one of the leading country NSW race clubs, conducting 18 thoroughbred race meetings each year as well as hosting a variety of corporate and social functions at the race club’s facilities.

The General Manager’s key responsibilities extend to:

• Race day event management, sales and marketing.

• Business planning and development.

• Community, membership, stakeholder and industry participant relationship management.

• Budget preparation, financial analysis and reporting, project management, strategic planning, marketing, legislative compliance and reporting.

• Thorough understanding of Work, Health and Safety legislation and ability to manage risks.

The role will include working with the Corporate Governance structure of the Club and the racing industry governing body (Racing NSW) to further develop and implement the Club’s strategic plan.

The successful applicant will need to possess extensive leadership, communication, organisational, financial and management skills.

Lindsay Park - Bloodstock Manager

The Opportunity:

• A career opportunity has become available for a highly motivated, committed and driven individual to join the Lindsay Park team as Bloodstock Manager.

The role will entail:

• Managing all aspects of client servicing to maintain and grow the Lindsay Park client base

• Selling down Lindsay Park-purchased horses

• Working on new business opportunities

• The opportunity to travel interstate and attend thoroughbred auction sales

• Processing, updating and managing electronic documents

• Liaising with and entertaining owners and clients

• Assisting with the sales process of horses to Hong Kong

• General administration

• Coordinate tried horse sales

Desirable Experience (Not all required):

• Experience in and/or knowledge of the thoroughbred industry

• A history of stakeholder relationship management

• Outstanding oral and written communication skills

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

• Experience with Ardex and CRM programs

• Professional, reliable and the ability to work autonomously with minimal guidance

• A team player

• Ability to travel on occasion for thoroughbred auction sales

• Opportunity to work from metropolitan Melbourne, with the ability to come to Lindsay Park Euroa one to two days per week

• Salary commensurate with experience plus annual bonus incentives

• Ensuring a safe workplace and facility through a strong understanding of and commitment to OH&S.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Understanding of the racing industry and the ability to establish good relationships with key industry stakeholders.

• 5+ years’ experience in a similar leadership/executive role with proven experience in leading and growing a business.

• Ability to operate strategically whilst being hands on when needed.

• Strong commercial acumen with sound understanding of accounting principles.

• Ability to influence with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Self-motivation with a strong drive for results.
