Race summary
Desert Lord (High Chaparral {Ire}) relished a hot tempo and was able to get into a comfortable rhythm behind the leading pack.
The rider, Michael Cahill, eased him to the outside on straightening and the David Vandyke-trained 7-year-old unleashed with an irresistible finish.
Tramonto (Wandjina) coped with a stiff rise in class to take second ahead of Totally Charmed (I Am Invincible). Alligator Blood (All Too Hard) was fourth on resuming and earned a pass mark for the Group 1 winner, who had to concede all of his rivals 7kg in his first run for 10 months.
