Waikato Stud sire Tivaci notched up his second winner this week in a matter of days when the Leon and Troy Corstens-trained Draft Day (NZ) saluted on debut at Sandown on Wednesday.
The 3-year-old fended off a fast-finishing Riverplate (Flying Artie) Prowling (Wolf Cry) to gift Tivaci winner his fifth individual winner.
Tivaci will stand the upcoming breeding season for a service fee of NZ$12,500 plus GST.

Another Star salutes
Starsongari gifted Vinery Stud’s sophomore sire Star Turn his sixth individual winner this season when saluting at Gawler on Wednesday.
The Chris Bieg-trained filly finished 1.1l the better of Sabkau (Written Tycoon) and True Aim (War) in the 1200-metre event.

Shosha salutes
Shosha, a $1.1 million 2018 Inglis Australia Easter Yearling Sale purchase, secured a city double for the late, great Deep Impact (Jpn) when notching up her second consecutive victory at Doomben on Wednesday.
The Tony Gollan-trained mare’s dominant 2.2l victory in the 1660 metre Class 1 H. complemented Deep Impact’s $1.9 million son Profondo defying a stark betting drift to win impressively on debut at Randwick.
Deep Impact is currently represented at stud in Australia by Leneva Park’s Fierce Impact (Jpn), Coolmore Stud’s Saxon Warrior (Jpn) and Woodside Park’s Tosen Stardom (Jpn).
Underwood moved
Racing Victoria has confirmed that G1 Underwood S. Day will now be run at Sandown on Saturday, September 25.
The Listed Ansett Classic meeting, which has recently been held at Sandown will take place at Mornington on Sunday, September 26.
General manager of Racing Greg Carpenter said the AFL's decision to move its Grand Final to Perth paved the way for RV to make the switch.
"The Quayclean Underwood S. meeting is the first Group 1 meeting at Ladbrokes Park Sandown since 1996 and it will attract increased coverage and wagering in the Saturday afternoon timeslot," Carpenter told Racing.com.
"The switch also has the added benefit of providing an additional day between the Quayclean Underwood S. meeting and the G1 TAB Turnbull S. meeting at Flemington on Saturday, October 2 for any horses that are backing up between the two."
Adelaide autumn extended
Adelaide's Autumn Racing Carnival has been extended by a week after a decision was made to remove the G1 Australasian Oaks from the same meeting as the G1 Robert Sangster S. on the first Saturday in May and schedule it a week earlier.
Racing SA CEO Nick Redin said the change had been made following consultation with industry stakeholders.
"The feeling was the historical scheduling didn't give the Australasian Oaks the credit it is due, with the Robert Sangster being the main race on what has traditionally been day one of the Carnival," Redin told Racing.com.
"What should really be Robert Sangster Day has previously been promoted as Oaks Day, so the shift will not only give more promotion to the Oaks but also to the Sangster as our unique race.
Jockeys to be heard
The directions hearing into charges of alleged false or misleading evidence by five suspended Victorian jockeys will take place at 9.30am AEST on Thursday morning.
Jamie Kah, Ben Melham, Ethan Brown and Celine Gaudray were suspended for three months last Friday after gathering at a Mornington Airbnb two days before.
Jamie Kah
The hearing is likely to determine a date for when the charges can be heard after it was revealed on Saturday that Mark Zahra was also in attendance at the event.
Zahra, Melham and Brown have appealed the severity of their three-month bans while Kah and Gaudray elected not to appeal.
Strip draws superbly
Star sprinter Nature Strip (Nicconi) will jump from barrier three of eight in Saturday’s G3 Concorde S. at Randwick following Annabel Neasham’s decision to send Wisdom Of Water (Headwater) to Moonee Valley for the G2 McEwen S.
Nature Strip
The six-time Group 1 winner’s key rivals include Trekking (Street Cry {Ire}), barrier five, and Wild Ruler (Snitzel), barrier six.
Wet a worry
SENTrack host Andrew Bensley has reported that connections of boom filly Argentia (Frankel {GB}) may be deterred from running the current G1 Thousand Guineas favourite in Saturday’s Listed Atlantic Jewel S. at Moonee Valley if forecast rainfall comes to fruition.
Arran en route
British trainer Charlie Fellowes has reported that three-time G1 Melbourne Cup placegetter Prince Of Arran (GB) (Shirocco {Ger}) is handling his pre-export testing regime “like a pro” ahead of a potential fourth consecutive tilt at the two-mile Flemington feature.
Fellowes, who has been a vocal critic of Racing Victoria’s enforcement of scintigraphy scans on international gallopers is confident the 8-year-old can recapture his brilliant best on Australian soil after two consecutive unplaced efforts this time in.
"It's a huge undergoing. Had he not had such a good record in Australia, I probably wouldn't have put him through it,” Fellowes told Sky Racing UK.
"Because we know he loves Australia and we know he takes it all in his stride, we were happy to put him through it and chance our arm and go down there one last time."
Countess on song
New Zealand-based trainer Fraser Auret is delighted by the condition of promising filly Unusual Countess (NZ) (Unusual Suspect {USA}) ahead of Saturday’s Listed The O’Learys Fillies' S. at Wanganui.
Sighted only once on raceday, Unusual Countess ran out a ready winner of the Listed Champagne S. as a 2-year-old at Riccarton in May and impressed when winning a trial last month.
Auret’s parents Nigel and Adaire stand Unusual Suspect at their Letham Stud.
“There is certainly a bit of improvement to come. We were a bit impeded with the lockdown. It was my intention to get another trial into her, which were obviously scrapped, but in saying that, she is coming up really nicely. I am thrilled with where she is at,” Auret told NZ News Desk.
Bungle brings top dollar
Bunglejungleparty (Ire) (Bungleinthejungle {GB}) headed day one of the Tattersalls August Sale at Parks Paddock when knocked down to Will Douglass of Charlie Gordon-Watson Bloodstock for 125,000 gns (AU$245,437).
The clearance remained solid in comparison to the 2020 renewal, which was inaugurated due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Of the 144 horses offered during the first session, 127 (88 per cent) went under the hammer for a gross of 1,459,200 gns (AU$2,865,139). The average of 11,490 gns (AU$22,560) and a median of 7000 gns (AU$13,744) were down 36 per cent and 42 per cent on 2020, respectively.
