Cornerstone Stud's 2021 Virtual Stallion Parade

2 min read

Cornerstone Stud has showcased its two-pronged stallion roster, in its virtual parade, viewable below.

The Barossa Valley-based operation will again be headlined by Europe’s 2016 Champion First Season Sire, Sir Prancealot (Ire). The son of dual French Group 1 winner Tamayuz (GB), returns for his fifth season in South Australia, having successfully covered his second book of mares at California’s Rancho San Miguel Thoroughbreds.

A dual stakes-winning juvenile over 1000 metres, Sir Prancealot is responsible for 10 individual stakes winners, including G1 Santa Anita American Oaks winner Lady Prancealot (Ire).

A proven Danehill (USA) speed outcross, Sir Prancealot secured two Australian first-crop winners last season, most notably the exciting Robbie Griffiths and Mathew de Kock-trained Gonnadancealot.

His yearlings have been well received at prominent sales, selling up to $125,000.

Out of the French Listed winner Mona Em (Ire) (Catrail {USA}), Sir Prancealot is a half-brother to Listed winner Nice Applause (Ire) (Royal Applause {GB}) and the dam of French Listed winners Hurricane (Fr) (Hurricane Cat {USA}) and Francesco Bere (Fr) (Peer Gynt {Jpn}).

He is currently standing at a service fee of $9900 (inc GST).

Cornerstone will also be represented by G2 Skyline S. winner and $1.35 million yearling purchase Valentia.

Standing at $7700 (inc GST) the son of Champion Sire Fastnet Rock has sired 10 winners from 24 runners across his first two crops, including Listed placegetters Smokin’ Val and Fayerra.

Fayerra finished fourth in last year’s G1 Champagne S., G2 Reisling S. and G2 Silver Slipper S. while Smokin' Val has finished fourth in the G3 Typhoon Tracy S. and the G3 Proud Miss S.

Valentia is out of Smart Company (Mister C {USA}), a sister to dual Group 1 winner Super Elegant (Mister C {USA}), G2 Angus Brut Classic winner Elegancy and G3 Victoria H. winner Mister Elegant.
