Varian Stable is recruiting. We are looking for talented and ambitious people to join our team at Carlburg Stables in Newmarket.
We have just reached 100 winners for the fifth season in a row - in record time - and we are excited about the future. We are a forward-thinking stable where everybody’s contribution is appreciated and rewarded.
We currently have vacancies for full-time riders and yard people, as well as a treadmill, pool and spa assistant.
Varian Stable offers a competitive salary and pool money, plus a paid fourth lot and paid early pull out for full-time riders. You will always be invited to take your own horses racing and we pay an additional bonus if one of your horses win. You will have four afternoons off every other week, plus every other Sunday.
Experience is valued, and remuneration will reflect this, but we also have opportunities for people in learning roles.

Part-time Content Co-ordinator
Thoroughbred Daily News AusNZ is looking for a part-time Content Co-ordinator to join our enthusiastic team.
The Content Co-ordinator role is responsible for compiling and sending the daily TDN AusNZ edition. It will involve copy editing, sourcing supporting visual content, adding images and video, some copy writing and assisting with social media.
It is imperative that applicants have the following skills:
- Exceptional spelling and grammar
- Top attention to detail
- Good eye for imagery
- Excellent organisational skills
- Knowledge of the Australasian thoroughbred bloodstock industry and people within it
This role would suit a person who is self-motivated in a work-from-home environment, but who thrives working as part of a team and takes pride in providing a high-quality of work.
The successful candidate would be required on Friday, Saturday and one additional weekday. The workday begins early afternoon, and finishes when the daily edition is sent.
