Silverdale Farm, located in the Southern Highlands of NSW, is currently seeking an experienced Farm Hand to join their diverse team in growing what will be the Best Standard in the equine racing & breeding industry.
This is a significant opportunity to contribute to an innovative and rapidly expanding business that prioritises the professional development of its team.
Applicants must have experience in all aspects of farm work including gardening, operating machinery and equipment along with certified training on equipment. Whilst working autonomously, you must be able and willing to work as a part of a team.
General tasks to be undertaken are as follows:
- Maintaining paddocks, fencing, water troughs, etc.
- General maintenance of farm buildings
- General gardening, chemical spraying and upkeep of the property
Further responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain farm machinery with attachments
- Develop new pastures
- Manage irrigation systems
- Whilst not essential other skills such as welding
- OH&S compliance
- Certification for use of Farm Equipment an advantage

Edinburgh Park - Stud Hand and Yearling Preparation
Located at Wingham on the Mid-North Coast of NSW, Edinburgh Park is currently looking for a committed and reliable team member to come on board for the 2021 breeding season and beyond.
With a high-quality broodmare band and farm facilities that are second to none, we need an experienced person with drive and passion, that will fit into the current team and hit the ground running.
The role includes all the day-to-day tasks involved with working on a commercial farm, such as:
• Feeding and associated care of mares, foals and yearlings
• Assisting with the vet and farrier on a daily basis
• Working with yearlings and spellers
• Foal watch and weekend work on a rostered basis
• Yearling preparation and attending all major sales
The person we are looking for must be enthusiastic, passionate and hard-working, with horse experience an essential requirement. Along with the ability to take direction and to communicate well, you must also work well in a small team, and be prepared to work independently at times also. Experience working with farm equipment such as quad bikes and buggies will be advantageous, along with the ability and drive to get in and get the job done.
Remuneration will be above award wages depending on experience, and single accommodation may be available for the right person. It is imperative that you have a driver's license and your own reliable transport. The position is for an immediate start.

Part-time Content Co-ordinator
Thoroughbred Daily News AusNZ is looking for a part-time Content Co-ordinator to join our enthusiastic team.
The Content Co-ordinator role is responsible for compiling and sending the daily TDN AusNZ edition. It will involve copy editing, sourcing supporting visual content, adding images and video, some copy writing and assisting with social media.
It is imperative that applicants have the following skills:
- Exceptional spelling and grammar
- Top attention to detail
- Good eye for imagery
- Excellent organisational skills
- Knowledge of the Australasian thoroughbred bloodstock industry and people within it
This role would suit a person who is self-motivated in a work-from-home environment, but who thrives working as part of a team and takes pride in providing a high-quality of work.
The successful candidate would be required on Friday, Saturday and one additional weekday. The workday begins early afternoon, and finishes when the daily edition is sent.
