Listed Hill Smith S., $107,475, 1800m
Victorian trainers Anthony and Sam Freedman made a successful raid on this race last year with Ain'tnodeeldun (Dundeel {NZ}) and look a chance to make it two in a row even though their runner this year is still a maiden.
A promising one by the same stallion as last year's winner however, Cerberus (Dundeel {NZ}) looking nicely primed for a rise in distance at just his third outing.
He does however have an odds-on favourite to contend with, the fellow Flemington trained galloper Blackcomb (Vancouver) who is also a maiden. She stepped up to this distance at her home-track a few weeks ago and was good to the line.
The locals cannot be discounted, Max Fire (Star Turn) tough on pace winning his last two whilst Wheels Of Courage (Kiss And Make Up) has also been coming along nicely.
