Glenn Haven Ready2Race Highlights

Sponsored by
3 min read

Glenn Haven Thoroughbreds is a picturesque state of the art breaking and training facility with each of our lots educated under the tutelage of respected young horseman Matt Vella. Yearning, Dame Giselle and Classique Legend are all recent graduates who have passed through Matt’s system.

Glenn Haven Thoroughbreds is proud to showcase the work Matt and his team do with our Inglis Ready2Race draft. We take pride in the work we do and in the draft, we have put together.

Glenn Haven's draft for the 2021 Inglis Ready2Race Sale includes thirteen quality lots prepared by Matt Vella, including a mixture of proven sires: Deep Field, Snitzel, Capitalist and Toronado (Ire), and young stallions: Impending, Merchant Navy, Shalaa (Ire) & Hellbent.

Lot 5 – Impending x Kristofferson (Colt)

View Pedigree

Lot 5 is a Super Vobis nominated Impending colt who breezed in a slick 10.32s (one of the top 15 times of the Sale). An athletic and clean-limbed type, he looks a ready-made racehorse.

Lot 5 - Impending x Kristofferson (colt)

With less than 20 per cent of the catalogue Super Vobis nominated, this colt is a must-see for any Victorian buyer with one of the quickest breezes overall. From the first crop of Group 1 winner Impending he has every chance to go early with Impending a city winning 2-year-old on debut.

Lot 8 – Capitalist x Labdien (Colt)

View pedigree

Lot 8 is one of the stars of the sale. A top 5 breeze on the stopwatch (10.21s), a Group 1 sire in Capitalist and a black-type dam, this colt has the looks to back up his profile and is a ready-made 2-year-old.

Lot 8 - Capitalist x Labdien (colt)

Golden Slipper winner Capitalist needs no introduction as the sire of 22 winners and 11 black-type horses in his first crop including Group 1 winner Captivant. Join his early success with this quick colt from a dam who won on debut in Sydney as a 2-year-old.

Lot 16 – Merchant Navy x Look To The Stars (Colt)

View pedigree

Lot 16 is a Merchant Navy colt that breezed a top 10 time in-hand (10.27s) – and he looked the part in doing so. He has a good attitude and is bred to be a 2-year-old.

Lot 16 - Merchant Navy x Look To The Stars (colt)

Champion sprinter Merchant Navy is off to a flyer at stud with Drisana placed in the Gimcrack and several impressive triallers to date. Come yearling sales time, there is every chance his progeny will be far more expensive to buy. There will not be many better-bred sons of Merchant Navy for sale this year with this colt from the high-class Group winning 2-year-old Look To The Stars (I Am Invincible).
