G1 Railway S., $1,000,000, 1600m
Odds-on favourite Western Empire (NZ) (Iffraaj {GB}) could not have been more impressive bolting in with the G3 Asian Beau S. first-up and it has been a while since the Peters' homebred has tasted defeat.
Kissonallforcheeks (Written Tycoon) has looked good winning two of her last three including the G3 RJ Peters S. last start, a race in which Kaptain Kaos (Demerit) was doing his best work late. Also right in the thick of things in that race was Son Of Bacchus (Playing God) who is yet to miss a placing in five 1600-metre runs at Ascot.
The G2 Lee Steere S. is a major form reference here, that race won in gutsy fashion by the on-pacer Massimo (Sessions) who can again give plenty of cheek. There were some nice runs behind him in that race - from Valour Road (Frost Giant {USA}), The Velvet King (Universal Ruler), Dance Music (War Chant {USA}) and Kay Cee (Playing God).
G2 WA Guineas, $500,000, 1600m
It'sarayday (Winning Rupert) was impressive becoming his sire's first stakes winner last time out and will again be strongly fancied. As will the talented filly Buzzoom (Safeguard) who backs up from a strong finishing G3 Champion Fillies S. second.
Treasured Star (Toronado {Ire}) had no luck as favourite in the Listed Burgess Queen S. and can atone whilst her stablemate Devoted (Xtravagant {NZ}) looks nicely primed for the mile having been so good to the line in the Listed Fairetha S.
Also good in that race won by It'sarayday were the placegetters Stay Safe (Safeugard) and Pale Rider (Rommel).
Champagne Dame (War Chant {USA}) is another filly with a touch of class whilst Success Play (Playing God) is racing well having won his last two.
Listed Placid Ark S., $125,000, 1200m
Flying Missile (Cable Bay {Ire}) just does not know how to run a bad race and she is deserving of black-type success having been stakes placed at her last two outings.
Also solid in stakes company of late have been He's Gold (Rogano) and Fatale Femme (Shooting To Win) whilst several up-and-comers look a chance to threaten - such as Sparkling Blue (Foxwedge) who has impressed winning her first two, Thomas Magnum (NZ) (Per Incanto {USA}) who was green but too good saluting at his second outing and Ain't No Other Man (Gingerbread Man) who was right in the thick of things when resuming.
The Peters' colours are always dangers in stakes races and they have Real Danger (I Am Invincible) lining up here. She may not have quite seen out the 1400 metres last time out and looks suited back in trip. Liwa (Mulaazem) is capable of better if ridden more quietly.
Listed Carbine Club S., $125,000, 1400m
Hot Zed (Red Hot Choice) was caught wide last start and enjoys a sizable drop in weight here. Dom To Shoot (Shooting To Win) is capable of much better than his first-up last, the 4-year-old winning the Mornington Guineas back in March.
The Spruiker (I'm All The Talk) steps out for the first time since July and what a great impression he created over the winter months. Son Of A God (Playing God) has drawn nicely and he was good fresh.
The Neville Parnham-trained Neufbosc (Fr) (Mastercraftsman {Ire}) can figure in the finish on his best form as can Royal Command (Street Sense {USA}) though he is coming back in distance second-up.
Listed Jungle Mist Classic, $125,000, 1200m
It could be a big day for the Peters family's pink silks with Bright Diamond (I Am Invincible) opening up favourite on the back of an impressive second-up victory - her fourth success from just nine starts.
Solaia (Toronado {Ire}) steps out for the first time since early June and has trialled well whilst Sheza Chalmer (Vital Equine {Ire}) finished off nicely over a shorter trip when resuming... and she has won second-up.
Angelic Miss (NZ) (Savabeel) doesn't know how to run a bad race and was so strong to the line last time out whilst another contestant boasting an excellent strike rate is Tycoon Storm (Written Tycoon) who has won eight races, three of those at Ascot.
