Last start G2 Tauranga S. winner Justaskme (NZ) (No Excuse Needed {GB}) comes back in distance but was so impressive last time out - racing away from Hypnos (NZ) (Reliable Man {GB}) who boasts consistent recent form.
Tavi Mac (NZ) (Tavistock {NZ}) was disappointing in that same race but is better suited at the 1400 metres and has trialled soundly since.
Coventina Bay (NZ) (Shamexpress {NZ}) returns from an unsuccessful Queensland campaign but is proven in Group company and has won a couple of recent trials.
G3 Manawatu Cup, NZ$100,000, 2300m
House Of Cartier (Alamosa {NZ}) was good to the line back in trip last time out and is better suited here.
Cherry Lane (NZ) (Redwood {GB}) and Marroni (NZ) (Makfi {GB}) are both up in class but both come off smart-last start wins.
Marietta Lane (NZ) (Zed {NZ}) is capable of better having had to do a bit of work last start whilst Skyphyta (NZ) (Pierro) and Notabadharada (NZ) (Haradasun) also had excuses last time out. Motivation (NZ) (Mastercraftsman {Ire}) looks nicely primed at his third run in whilst veteran Master Fin (NZ) (Nom Du Jeu {NZ}) is still racing well at 10.
