G3 Vo Rogue Plate, $300,000, 1350m
Tiger Heart (Better Than Ready) is looking to make it two wins in a row for his sire who was represented last year by Apache Chase who contests The Buffering on Saturday. A little disappointing fresh, Tiger Heart was coming along nicely prior and is proven at the trip and the track.
Release The Beans (Spill The Beans) is yet to put a hoof wrong and was very good making the pace when resuming in the Listed Gold Edition S., a race in which Miss Hipstar (Star Turn) was not far away.
The lightly raced Sydney visitors Starman (Zoustar) and Shihonka (Capitalist) are both lightly raced and promising as is the local Jackson On Time (Sebring) who can bounce back off an average second-up run having caught the eye when resuming.
Listed Nudgee S., $200,000, 1200m
The caller is bound to have some fun should Nudge (Fastnet Rock) with the Nudgee and she is a chance to do so on the back of an excellent performance in The Gong last time out.
Boomtown Lass (Spirit Of Boom) displayed good second-up improvement and was second in this race last year. She is one of the two runners for her in-form sire with Miami Fleiss looking a big chance despite a horror draw. Her trainer plays a big hand here with the talented Isotope (Deep Field) nicely placed first-up off a good trial whilst the Group 1 mare Krone (Eurozone) has also been trialling well. Also a member of the stable is the well-related and promising second emergency Salateen, daughter of I Am Invincible from the Dancing Show (USA) (Nijinsky II {Can}) family.
Also on the up is Katalin (Medaglia D'Oro {USA}) who has impressed winning two of her three runs this time in whilst already proven in stakes company is the dual Group 2 winner Jamaea (Headwater) - another resuming off good trial form.
East Asia (NZ) (Swiss Ace) is a last-start Listed winner, beating home Eloquently (Poet's Voice {GB}), Tycoon Evie (Written Tycoon) and Centrefire (Shooting To Win), all of whom boast consistent form.
Kisukano (Bel Esprit) is another to line up here for a second year running - she was safely held last year but has been in good form of late, enjoying a healthy drop in weight for this contest.
