In today's instalment of 2021/2022 Rapid Reflections, we feature a quickfire round with Trelawney Stud's Director and Bloodstock Advisor, Cherry Taylor.
TDN AusNZ: Favourite racing moment of 2021?
Cherry Taylor: At Te Rapa on December 11, 2021 when Cheaperthandivorce won the Waikato Cup and Two Illicit won the G1 Captain Cook S. an hour later.
TDN AusNZ: And favourite non-racing moment?
CT: Watching Lisa Carrington clean up in the canoes at the Olympics what a legend.
TDN AusNZ: Who is your favourite racehorse of 2021?
CT: Cheaperthandivorce. I loved her mother Boundless and I love her. She is a light-framed mare but so mentally tough, I can’t wait for her 5-year-old career.
TDN AusNZ: Who is your favourite stallion, and why?
CT: Ocean Park is one of my favourite stallions. We bred him so that’s part of it. I think he’s underrated as a stallion.
TDN AusNZ: What do you consider the greatest sporting moment this year? (not solely racing related)
CT: Greatest sporting moment this year for me was the Black Ferns women’s Sevens winning gold at the Olympics.

TDN AusNZ: What's the first overseas trip you will be taking for fun post-COVID?
CT: First overseas trip for fun post-COVID will be to come to Aussie to see all our friends and visit our horses, some we haven’t ever seen yet.
TDN AusNZ: What kept you occupied during this year's lockdowns, aside from work?
CT: Aussie racing kept us sane in lockdown as we weren’t allowed to race (in New Zealand). It was so good Australia kept going.
TDN AusNZ: Favourite binge-worthy television show?
CT: Blindspot.
TDN AusNZ: What's your 2022 New Year's resolution?
CT: My 2022 resolution will be enjoy life, race more horses and to see them race.
