Magic Millions Adelaide catalogue released

The catalogue for the 2021 Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale has been released with a power-packed two days to feature 454 lots from leading breeders across the country.

The Sale, scheduled for Tuesday, March 15 and Wednesday, March 16, contains only Book 1 yearlings, with 107 individual sires represented across 72 different vendors.

Swettenham Stud's Rubick is the most represented sire in the catalogue, with 19 yearlings, while Yulong Stud's Grunt (NZ) has 16 of his first crop set to sell. Darley's Impending has 16, while Aquis' Lean Mean Machine has 15 and Vinery Stud's Press Statement 13.

There are also two representatives of four-time Champion Australian stallion Snitzel, five by current Champion Written Tycoon, two by rising star Zoustar as well as five by Capitalist and Lonhro and four by Deep Field.

Other first-season sires represented including Widden pair Trapeze Artist and Written By, who have five apiece, Darley's Harry Angel (Ire) who has four, as well as solo offerings from The Autumn Sun and Justify (USA).

Baramul Stud is the most represented vendor and will offer 36 yearlings, while South Australian powerhouse Cornerstone Stud will put forward 30 as part of its draft.

Collingrove Stud offers 21, famed South Australian nursery Mill Park Stud 17, while Kambula Stud, Rathmore Lodge and Widden Stud have 15 apiece.

Other interstate vendors to offer through the Sale include Yulong with 14, Kitchwin Hills with 10, Rosemont Stud with nine, Bhima Thoroughbreds and Emirates Park with seven each and Yarraman Park and Fernrigg Farm with five representatives respectively.

The catalogue comprising 249 BOBS eligible, 177 Super VOBIS nominated and 141 Racing Rewards SA (formerly SABOIS) eligible youngsters, with all of them eligible to be paid up for the Magic Millions Race Series, now boasting over $14 million of races each year.

The Adelaide Sales build up will feature the Magic Millions SA Race Day at Murray Bridge on Saturday, March 5, which includes races worth $320,000.

The day, which is highlighted by the running of the state’s richest juvenile race, the $200,000 Magic Millions SA 2YO Classic and the inaugural $120,000 Magic Millions 3YO & 4YO Classic, will also feature up to $90,000 in sale credit vouchers.

The Sale has been the source of several elite performers including 41 stakes winners since 2016, including Group 1 winners Private Eye (Al Maher), Vega One (Lope De Vega {Ire}), Warning (Declaration Of War {USA}) and Amphitrite (Sebring).
