G3 Kembla Grange Classic, $200,000, 1600m

Pretty Amazing (American Pharoah {USA}) was just that with a strong run down the outside from the rear of the field to easily claim the G3 Kembla Grange Classic and take her winning streak to three in a row and for the 3-year-old filly her first black-type victory at just her fourth start.

The Chris Waller-trained filly overpowered Gin Martini (NZ) (Rip Van Winkle {Ire}) and Dalchini (Flying Artie) who were respectively relegated to third and fourth by Hope In Your Heart (Dundeel {NZ}) who flashed home for second.

Bred by Dr D J O’Brien and owned by Clairden Racing, Pretty Amazing becomes the fifth of her family from Encosta De Lago mare Pretty Penny to win at Group level, with two, Galileo (Ire) gelding Sertorius and Brazen Beau filly Pretty Brazen, winning at Group 2 level and placing in a Group 1.

Clifton Red, a filly by Sebring was a Group 3 winner, Dollar For Dollar (High Chaparral {Ire}) has a Group 3 to his name as well as a Group 1-placing, with all foals to race from Pretty Penny have struck wins.

Pretty Awesome, a full sister to Pretty Amazing was passed in at the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale last year when offered in the Coolmore Stud draft.

Pretty Penny, originally sold as a racehorse for $2000 in 2006 and most recently selling to Colm Santry Bloodstock at the 2016 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale for $570,000 from Amarina Farm has since produced a sales result of $700,000 for Pretty Brazen, selling to McEvoy Mitchell Racing at the Inglis Easter Sale while her second foal, Fortune Of War (General Nediym), made $300,000 as a broodmare last year.

Pretty Penny has a Justify (USA) colt on the ground.
