G1 Coolmore Classic, $600,000, 1500m

Exciting import Lighthouse (USA) (Mizzen Mast {USA}) was having her eighth start in Australia and her breakthrough at Group 1 level made it five wins and three seconds on local turf.

Kicking off her career in the United States where she won a Del Mar 2-year-old maiden at her second start, Lighthouse was a Kentucky Downs Listed winner and a Santa Anita Group 3 placegetter before making her way to the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace stable.

She is one of the 62 stakes winners for her G1 Malibu S.-winning sire and his second on Australian soil with Multilateral (USA) having won the Listed Wyong Cup and the Listed Tattersall's Club Cup.

Bred by David Chavez Jr, Lighthouse is out of the unraced More Hoping (USA) whose sire is Danehill's (USA) (Danzig {USA}) G1 Epsom Derby winner North Light (Ire).

More Hoping is out of the stakes-placed Just Hoping (USA) (Gulch {USA}), half-sister to the Listed winner Hello (USA) (Smoke Glacken {USA}). Just Hoping's grandam is the dual Group winner Ratings (USA) (Caveat {USA}) who has stakes-winning descendants in America, France and Canada.

Lighthouse boasts a 4 X 6 cross of the terrific mare Flower Bowl (USA) (Alibhai {GB}) via her prolific sons Graustark (USA) (Ribot {GB}) and His Majesty (USA) (Ribot {GB}).

G2 Phar Lap S., $200,000, 1500m

There was no missing the flashy Mr Mozart (Snitzel) as he raced away to this easy win, his second at stakes level of the back of Listed success at Flemington last spring.

Bred by his owners Jamieson Park, David Russo, Phil Duggan, Russell Collins, Andrew McDonald and Ron Milne, Mr Mozart is one of the 119 stakes winners for his Arrowfield Stud-based star sire.

G2 Ajax S., $200,000, 1500m

It was a good move by Bendigo trainer Josh Julius to chase Sydney's wet tracks with Just Folk (Magnus) who had run such a nice race on firmer going in the G1 CF Orr S. at his previous outing.

One of the 25 stakes winner for Widden Victoria's ever reliable G1 The Galaxy winner Magnus (Flying Spur), Just Folk was bred by the Dwyer family out of their unraced mare Fast Ruby (Desert Sun {GB}), a half-sister to the G1 Emirates S. winner Tears I Cry (Lacryma Cristi {Ire}).

A granddaughter of the G1 VRC Oaks winner Weekend Delight (NZ) (Racing Is Fun {USA}), Fast Ruby paid a return visit to Magnus last spring having had a filly by him in late October. Also by Magnus is her city-placed, five-time winner Highclass Harry.

The sire and dam of Just Folk are bred on the same Danzig (USA)/Sir Ivor (USA)/Tudor Melody (GB) cross.

He is the second stakes winner (from his first 18 runners) from the debut crop of his Newgate Farm-based G1 The Galaxy and G1 Oakleigh Plate-winning sire who hails from the same prolific Fanfreluche (Can) (Northern Dancer {Can}) family as the G1 Australian Cup winner Duais (Shamus Award).

Bred on a 4 X 3 cross of Danehill (USA) (Danzig {USA) via a son and daughter, Rise Of The Masses is the second foal and second winner (the lightly raced Sebring mare You Rang - served last year by Russian Revolution - the other) for his dam who was crowned the Champion 2-Year-Old of New Zealand in 2012/13.

Part of a good day for the late Tavistock (NZ) (Montjeu {Ire}), Stockman (NZ) was tough to the line recording the seventh win of his 28-start career - and his third at stakes level on the back of a couple of Listed wins last year.

Bred by Sir Patrick and Lady Hogan and purchased by Proven Thoroughbreds with John Thompson Racing for NZ$175,000 from Book 1 of the 2018 New Zealand Bloodstock Yearling Sale, Stockman is the final foal and one of the three stakes winners for the dual Group winner Crimson (NZ) (Zabeel {NZ}) - also dam of the dual Group 2 winner Abidewithme (NZ) (Redoute's Choice) and the Listed-winning, G1 VRC Oaks runner-up Miss Scarlatti (NZ) (Stravinsky {USA}).

G3 Magic Night S., $175,000, 1200m

She's Extreme (Extreme Choice) let down nicely in her G1 Golden Slipper S. lead-up, breaking her maiden in fine style off her game G2 Sweet Embrace S. second.

Bred by Aquis Farm and purchased by trainer Anthony Cummings for $275,000 at last year's Inglis Easter Yearling Sale, she continues the great form for her Newgate Farm-based sire.

One of just 28 foals from his second crop, she is his first stakes winner from that season and his seventh overall.

She is the second live foal for the G2 WA Derby runner-up and G3 WA Oaks placegetter Keysbrook (So Secret), a dual city winner whose first foal is the four-time winner (from 14 starts) Ruru (So You Think {NZ}) - a Sandown-winning member of the Chris Waller stable.

G3 Maurice McCarten S., $160,000, 1100m

Proving that his longshot second in last weekend's G2 Challenge S. was no fluke, Shelby Sixtysix (Toronado {Ire}) showed plenty of heart defeating the tough Rule Of Law (Snitzel).

Bred by the Cesnik family and purchased by Danny Williams with Astute Bloodstock for $150,000 at the 2018 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, he is the 24th stakes winner for his Swettenham Stud-based shuttling sire, a dual Group 1-winning son of High Chaparral (Ire) (Sadler's Wells {USA}).

He is one of just three foals produced by the late Storm Kite (Honours List {Ire}) whose 2-year-old Incorporation (Territories {Ire}) ran fourth at Bendigo on Friday.

Storm Kite is a half-sister to the Listed Australia Day Cup winner Prophet's Kiss (Nediym {Ire}) from the family of the G3 Queen of the Turf S. winner Chez Paree (Sovereign Red {NZ}) and the Listed Hall Mark S. winner Juggling Time (Jugah {USA}).
