Inglis has released its catalogue for the 2022 Gold Yearling Sale, with 224 yearlings to be offered at a Sale which has produced recent Group 1 winners Savatoxl (Kuroshio), Media Award (Shamus Award) and Lunar Fox (Foxwedge).
The Sale, which will be held on the slightly earlier date of Thursday, April 21 this year, has been the source of 10 stakes winners over the past five years and has provided buyers with terrific return on investment, with G1 The Goodwood H. winner Savatoxl having cost just $8000 and G1 Australasian Oaks winner Media Award, a $5000 buy.
Lunar Fox, winner of both the G1 Australian Guineas and the G2 VRC Sires' Produce S. was a $40,000 purchase who has earned over $1 million.

The 2022 catalogue contains 130 horses which are nominated for the lucrative Super VOBIS scheme, with many of the top commercial stallions in the country represented.
There are two yearlings by Australia's leading first-season sire by earnings, Russian Revolution, as well as lots by fellow Newgate stars Capitalist and Deep Field. Darley stallions Street Boss (USA) and Brazen Beau are also featured along with Swettenham Stud's Toronado (Ire), who has seven yearlings for sale.
Yearlings by Arrowfield Stud's Dundeel (NZ) and Shalaa (Ire) also feature as do the likes of other emerging stars such as Waikato Stud's Tivaci and Newhaven Park's Xtravagant (NZ).
The first-season sire contingent which has made their presence felt at saleyards across Australia already in 2022 also feature with yearlings by The Autumn Sun, Trapeze Artist, Written By, Grunt (NZ), Lean Mean Machine, Sioux Nation (USA) and Showtime.

There are 13 yearlings which are siblings to stakes winners, including Lot 160, the full brother to Group 2 winner Fontiton (Turffontein), the dam of recent Group 3 winner Generation (Snitzel). There is also a full brother to recent G3 Launceston Cup winner Aurora's Symphony (Glass Harmonium {Ire}) (Lot 24).
