Pencarrow Stud - Broodmare Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Pencarrow Stud for a motivated and experienced individual to join our team as Broodmare Manager.

Pencarrow Stud is a private boutique operation based within minutes of Hamilton City. It is operated from a main farm of 400 acres accompanied by a hill farm for wintering mares. The stud foals 50 mares annually and presents a draft of about 25 yearlings at NZB’s National Yearling Sales Series.

It also operates a racing team of fillies retained from the annual foal crop. The Broodmare Manager would oversee the breeding program of approximately 60 mares. The position has an immediate start date and offers the opportunity to work with quality bloodstock on a well-appointed property.

The Pencarrow Stud brand is well established and highly respected. The successful applicant will assist with carrying that legacy into the next phase of the stud's development. A very competitive and complete remuneration package is also available.

Responsibilities include and is not limited to:

• Day-to-day operations, handling mares and foals and organising staff

• Record keeping – daily diary entries, maintaining breeding records and following a seasonal plan

• Involvement with Health and Safety operations and meetings

• Foaling season operations

• Liaising with the general manager regarding horse health and husbandry matters

If this position interests you, please send your CV and references to office@pencarrowstud.co.nz or call +64 7 856 8160.
