In the build up to the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, we have picked out three yearlings who have had substantial pedigree updates in the past couple of months.
Today, a filly who is a close relation to Snitzel is in the spotlight, along with a So You Think (NZ) colt from a family which has been in good form, and a Dundeel (NZ) filly whose half-sisters have been making strong early impressions.
Lot 23 - The Autumn Sun x Wiener (More Than Ready {USA}), filly - On account of Kitchwin Hills
This filly boasts a very strong pedigree before you add in any recent updates. Her dam, the stakes-placed Wiener (More Than Ready {USA}), is a half-sister to Champion stallion Snitzel, who, like this filly's sire, The Autumn Sun, is by Redoute's Choice, as well as Hinchinbrook. Wiener has already produced the stakes winner Rathlin (Fastnet Rock), who was placed at Sandown on Wednesday, as well as seven other winners.
Among that collection is her half-sister Ultravox (I Am Invincible), who recently broke her maiden. Connecting through the second dam, Snippets Lass (Snippets), is G1 Epsom H. winner Private Eye (Al Maher), who lines up in the G1 Doncaster H. on Saturday and who was recently placed in the G1 Canterbury S.

Lot 81 - So You Think (NZ) x Bourgogne (Choisir), colt - On account of Vinery Stud
Bourgogne (Choisir) has already produced a trio of stakes-performers in Lizard Island (Sebring), Marsannay (Snitzel) and Fairy Star (More Than Ready {USA}) while another of her daughters, Queen Of Eight (Haradasun), recently had her daughter Cardigan Queen (Sebring) place in the G3 Vanity S. at Flemington.
Adding to the currency of the pedigree, two Godoplhin horses which are also descended from this colt's second dam, Fionnay (NZ) (Crested Wave {USA}), Zethus (Exceed And Excel) and Bacchanalia (Exceed And Excel), were recently stakes-placed in races at Caulfield and Rosehill. Also on the page is Universal Lady (Exceed And Excel), twice a winner at Sandown in the past six weeks.

Lot 448 - Dundeel (NZ) x Stay With Me (Street Cry {Ire}), filly - On account of Arrowfield Stud
This filly's pedigree didn't need a lot added to it with her dam Stay With Me (Street Cry {Ire}) a winner of the G1 Thousand Guineas and a daughter of the Champion Filly Miss Finland (Redoute's Choice), who as well as winning five Group 1 races has produced a trio of other stakes performers.
However, Stay With Me has had her first two foals debut since the catalogue went to print. The 2-year-old Waltz On By (I Am Invincible) was runner-up in the Listed Talindert S. last month, then was creditable when beaten just 2.75l in ninth in the G1 Blue Diamond S. The 3-year-old Deep Impact (Jpn) filly, Always On My Mind, won impressively at her first start at Pakenham in February and backed that up with a second in a Sandown race before tackling stakes company.
