Zhongli Thoroughbreds - Stud Manager

Zhongli Thoroughbreds, a breeding and racing operation in the Southern Highlands, NSW are seeking a permanent full-time staff member to fill the role of STUD MANAGER.

Previous experience in a similar position would be an advantage.

The successful applicant, will be required to have the following hands-on experience and responsibilities which include, but are not limited to:

- Competency in all facets of the running of a thoroughbred breeding farm.

- Ability to manage a small team of staff including training new staff and timely reporting to a professional standard.

- Excellent communication (written and verbal), time management, attention to detail and organisational skills.

- Hire, manage and teach staff.

- Ability to liaise with trainers, sales companies, clients and other industry participants including attending sales events.

- Previous yearling preparation and sales knowledge is essential.

- Care and handling of foals, weanlings, yearlings, broodmares and spellers.

- Strong horse handling skills as well as being confident in handling foals, weanlings and yearlings with care.

- Logistics and transport of horses (confident in driving a car and horse float).

- Capability to work closely and liaise with veterinarians, farriers and management.

- Foaling experience is imperative.

- Comprehensive knowledge of Ardex.

- Good work ethic, reliable and can work as part of a team or alone.

An attractive remuneration package which includes private house on farm and the use of a company vehicle will be available for the successful applicant.
